Black Dog

Decided to take a bit of a 'Walkabout', with my best furry friend Bruno, down by the river that is my back lot line...

The colors have been really popping the past few days, and when I took my ride on Sunday, I was riding, and not taking pictures.  Today, it was about 65 degrees when I rolled in from work, and I decided it was a perfect time for a walk in da woods, with the camera this time  ;)

Bruno was all about the smells tonight...

The community where I live tends the path that runs along the Bark River.  Folks jog, walk their dogs, and just enjoy the scenery...  I met a woman (cute   :o ) jogging and she stopped to pet the pooch...

Here are a few views of the 'mighty' Bark

The woods behind my place and along the river have Shagbark Hickory, Maple (different types), Poplar, and some Sumac.  Wild Grape vines run through the area and really make the woods 'thick'...

We had a great time, Bruno and I, and I think I pooped him out...

Thanks for walking along with us...  We may have 5 months of down time while Ol' Man Winter dumps his wicked white stuff on us, but days like this make me happy I live in an area with a four season year...  ;)

Just when the highway straightened out for a mile
And I was thinkin' I'd just cruise for a while
A fork in the road brought a new episode
Don't you know...

Conform, go crazy, or ride a motorcycle...

What kind of sumac, Black Dog?The kind we have here in TN (staghorn sumac) makes a good drink like lemonade when a couple seed heads are soaked in a gallon of water (malac acid). Check it out on th' net.....
