I just bought a Ferris is500z riding mower and having a ball with it. Zero -Turn is a lot of fun and very  " get er done" Coming off a 50" Cub to this 61" is a blast. Plus time mowing is a lot shorter with the O - turn.  Now , I need to teach wife to drive this crazey mower.

I got to try a giant '50 Farmall tractor with triple mowing decks.... I suck.

Last thing my brother said was, Jess in low gear (where I want you to leave it) this thing will drive right thru the walls of my house into the basement.... please avoid the house.

Got a BadBoy 60 in ZTR and there is a small learning curve.   First time out I did a couple of unintentional 360s.  Was a ball though.  I have about 3 acres of yard to mow and do the close stuff around the house and driveways with the ZTR, and use the Massy Fergerson with a finish mower for the rest.  Machines are fun.

I was allowed to use Lyn-Del's Dixie Chopper on Tuesday.  That sucker is a mowing machine.  Had never driven a zero turn mower before.  I did not run into the house.  Did not climb any trees or knock down any fences or cut any hoses.  Very roughly 3 hours on about 3 acres.

High point of the day was getting off the Dixie Chopper and onto my Valkyrie again.  Smooth and powerful.  I am in love all over again with my Valk.

I have a Hustler Super Z 60 inch. 850 cc Kawasaki it will cut grass at 15 mph if the ground is smooth enough you can stay in the seat.

I have the flex forks on mine so it rides pretty good. Farris is supposed to have the best ride in the industry with the cool over suspension.

I can mow my whole yard in a hour and a half now

My theory on cutting grass is that two weeks after you're dead, it'll just look like crap anyway.  No one is gonna care for it, or about, like you did.  

My answer to cutting grass is to buy a townhome (my current choice), condo or go full-time motorhome.  

Just think of all the money you'll save not having to have mowers, fertilizer and all those watering bills.  Not to mention all of the time that not cutting the grass frees up.

I know I drive folks (including Early Bird and Wizard) crazy by my attitude to the lawn.  After years in the physical security industry, I know that thieves will assume an overgrown lawn means folks are on vacation.  So mine will get knee high and they'll see activity here, sometimes it will get mowed when I'm home, sometimes the neighbor mows while I'm gone (he uses my Dixie Chopper on his lawn, and repays me by mowing sometimes for me).

The condition of my lawn means nothing about the occupancy of the house.

I am back to two 60" commercial model Dixie Choppers at work......they sent one to the auction lot.......I have a 42" Husky zero turn at home......it used to take 2 hrs to mow the lawn with my Snapper.....now I can mow the lawn in 20-30mins.....minus trim time

I'm not trying to one up everybody but here it is. I got a deal on a mower that can mow eleven feet nine inches in one pass. I know a grounds keeper for a high end golf coarse that was parting with this mower.  He said that it was offered to him at a great price. But he had no use for such a mower and knew that i did. Well i had to ask the price. He said it was 40 grand new but it had a lot of hours on it. As i took another pull off my beer and i'm thinking it's out of my range. Then he said he could get it for $3500 delivered to my place. I said deal and got the next round or two. It's called a Ramsom same thing as a Jakeason. [bad spelling]. It has three decks and the two outside decks raise up then your mowing 60 inches. Four wheel drive with a four cyl. diesel motor. I added a cup [beer] holder and it's good to go.

When I worked at the UGA Golf course......I used a Jacobsen F10 fairway mower a lot......I could make 6' tall rooster tails with the clippings......

WOW ! What a beast. I looked at the web. and when out a threw rocks at my new mower. 
Kidding, but what a great machine. I just mow about 2 1/2 acres so my Ferris will do the job for me.

Yeah, years ago when th 8N was on sale new, they had a 54 or 60" center belly deck for it, don't remember  which one it was.   Wasn't worth a crap. but they had one.    The Church we went to in California had one for mowing the Cemetery, and the Church grounds.    They used little Monkey Ward lawn mowers for finally trimming around the head stones.    I think they had 4 or 5 of these, and at least 1 was always down for needed repair.

This is a smaller version of the one I used at UGA......it was a larger machine and had more reels on it.....and sounded like a hotrod.......

We got a 60" front deck grasshopper that I really like. We mow 3 farms with it. Love the front decks cause its easy to mow under trees. I used our back up mower, grasshopper 48" deck underneith. Hated it! It got me car sick.  ??? Looking under me to see the rows got me all sick. Never use it again.
