North bound and down.  :) Heading to Lake Placid NY tomorrow from St. Pete FL via Mt. Airy NC.
Got to say hi to Goober and the boys and get a trim from Floyd ya know. I haven't seen fall colors
in a long time. Will be going up I-75 for as long as i can take it and land up around Macon GA for the night then take 441 to I-85 to 601 to Mt Airy, spend two nights there and grab the BRP north
and get on I-81 somewhere and land in north VA for the night. Back on I-81 to NY and maybe
hook up with some friends in Syracuse, if not I'll go to Cooperstown to see the Baseball HOF.
Make my way up to Tupper Lake and stay at the Red Top Inn for a couple of nights then to Lake Placid and ride some of the roads up there. I'll make my way south after that.
Anyone want to hook up and ride along or let me know of some good roads to ride let me know.
       ;)  Bill

Oss

if you decide to take 22 south down to 23 west about an hour south of albany and then the Taconic Parkway you will have fun and great scenery with what will be peak or almost peak colors

In fact while up north ride 100 in Vermont for a bit or 7   nice 2 lanes also

watch the speed on the Taconic or you WILL get an appreciation award and not see it coming

PM me if you will pass this way and if I can break out of work will show you stuff you dont know about right in the Hudson Valley near the Bear Mtn Bridge area
If you don't know where your going any road will take you there
George Harrison

When you come to the fork in the road, take it
Yogi Berra   (Don't send it to me C.O.D.)

Not sure about New York but the Carolina mountains won't peak with color until at least two weeks. The Fall Color Ride out of Robbinsville, North Carolina on Oct. 19-20 -21 should hit it perfect this year.

I've seen alot of people that thought they were cool , but then again Lord I've seen alot of fools.

The Fall colors in New England are BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!
  FB and I need to make another Fall trip up there !
If the colors are not peaked.... just keep heading north till ya find them.

HAVE FUN !!!  Say 'Hey' ta Andy...

blue=3 times
green=at least 4 times
When they are all 'green'.. I'll stop counting.

Cruised the Lake Placid area myself back in early September. Trees were already starting to change.  Colors should be great about now.  Take the ride from Lake Placid up to the top of Whiteface (Rt.86), then go around the other way to Tupper Lake.  Great roads and riding.
