RANT:
I stand in Criminal court several times a week. Lately the Criminal element has been using "I have a test this week" or "I can not miss school" in the bail arguments regularly. These are not the "I made a mistake" people, these are multiple assault suspects, theives and drug dealers, people that are lifetime felons, career criminals that we are giving room, board and meals to go to school while they commit crimes. They see this as another goverment handout they can get. I am all for job training for people who are employable people who want to work but the current system is NOT using money for what it is intended and I do NOT see any of these loans being repaid at Prison wages.  Oh, when the Judge asks how long until you can get your fines paid and the answer is "I get my grant or student loan on (insert date) and I will pay it then" it burns me too.
