Bikers for Babies

The March of Dimes Bikers for Babies escorted ride is coming up again next Sunday at 11:00 AM here in Naples. Think positive thoughts, no rain, no rain. I've done this ride for years now and usually have a good time. I think the trick is to keep the crazies from making a race out of it. The cops do a good job of keeping the cages out of the group but every once in a while one gets impatient and sneaks in. The last few years it has attracted about two thousand riders who enjoy a 35 mile escorted ride from the Naples HD shop up the coast through Ft. Myers Beach to the Ft. Myers HD shop. It attracts all types of bikes and riders and everyone seems to get along fairly well. There is a lunch waiting for you when you get there and bands play for a few hours. All that for a $35.00 registration fee which goes to help fight birth defects.

I was wondering if anyone else has done a Bikers for Babies ride and if so where was it,what time of year was it? How was the turn out at your event?

I encourage anyone who has not done one of these rides to give it a try. It's for a great cause and fun to boot.
