The fact that the torture bracelet was ever seriously considered at all should send chills down the spine of every American who values their dignity, especially given the endless train of TSA abuse stories that pour in on a weekly basis.

Imagine a TSA goon not only having the power to squeeze your junk if you so much as look at them the wrong way, but also having the capability to deliver an electric shock to anyone who speaks out of turn. It's a nightmare scenario, and another clear indication that the TSA is an odious insult to the very notion of America as a free country and needs to be defunded and ultimately abolished.

However, given that the TSA is already doling out punishments for people who do not display the proper level of obedience, by either preventing them from flying, stealing their cash, or simply punching them in the balls, how far away are we from the hideous idea of the taser bracelet being resurrected? Especially given the heights of absurdity the TSA has already scaled by introducing its ludicrous "all stop" policy and its testing of drinks purchased inside the secure area of the airport?

The BEST weapon that the American public has to fight the TSA and its idiocy is.............

their ability to, REFUSE to FLY.

Can you imagine if ALL Americans REFUSED to fly anywhere for 30 days, what about 60 days or 90 days ?

I'm sorry but I don't see the relation between Obama and the TSA in the since that you are making it. The TSA was created well before he took office.

Can't really pin the TSA abuses on the Obama admin. It's an agency run amok. Could make a case that the administration continues to let it run amok I guess.

Seen the TSA abuses first hand. Going through Midway in Chicago a number of times to see senior citizens, often with their families looking on, getting publicly patted down. Grandma getting felt over in full public view.  Another senior citizen in a wheelchair no less, getting screamed at because she didn't understand the commands being barked at her and wasn't complying fast enough.

Why are these folks getting the 3rd degree? Cause they hit the magic random number.

Even though they obviously pose no threat whatsoever, they get the enhanced screening anyway.

What kind of security is this that would focus on Grandma and be seemingly be oblivious to real possible threats.

Now my trips to Chicago were a result of taking my Daughter to a Shriner Dr. appointments.
We'd fly out of Omaha to Midway and back all in one day. So we had no luggage and a few times we rode the Valk down so I'm wearing my leathers and have no luggage and am a big dude with a beard. I cannot understand how Grandma poses a greater threat than me.

I just sail through security. Express lane.

This made me mad enough to write my Congressman about it. It was ridiculous.


My solution actually comes from one of the early comic routines of the late George Carlin. (I think)

But seriously, profiling is what is needed. Compile a profile of a terrorist and apply it. It would seem to me you'd catch more terrorist if you are actually implementing a policy of looking for them as opposed to randomly yanking and patting down Grandma in front of her family. I guess she could be carrying a fruit cake bomb, or secret Bingo code.

What's makes security in commercial aviation even more ridiculous is the level of security in the private aviation sector which is pretty tame by comparison.
