Break a leg?????

Well, Stephanie and I got home Sunday evening  from the FCR and we had a great time. You Valkyrie folks are a great group.  Met some more, new to us, friends.  What a bunch of nice folks. Thanks Joe for a great time, and everyone else for new friendships.

Steph went on duty at the hospital about an hour after we got home.  Long story short, she got called in late at night and fell, breaking her fibula. That's the smaller lower leg bone. It was a spiral fracture at the lower end at the ankle joint. We took her to the Dr. in Nashville and he said no surgery at this point but she has to wear a boot for 3 months and not put any weight on it for 2 weeks.  If it starts healing properly, she won't have to have surgery, if it doesn't, then surgery.   she is handling it well, just hard to get around right now. She is done riding for a few months.  Keep her in your thoughts, she is hard to keep down. Luckily, this is nothing compared to what others are going through and we always are thankful for things not being any worse. She's just hard to keep still, and running her business keeps her busy and moving around a lot.  I hope to see a lot of you on the next ride that Crazyhorse is having in November. Steph won't be able to be there, but I will be, Lord willing.  Everyone ride safe.

Stephanie, DONT CHEAT.  I just got over a broken tail bone and compression fracture at T-11 I was told not to bend or lift anything for three months.  I didnt cheat (that much) and all healed up great.  Bones heal great when they heal right, but theres only one shot at it.  If it goes bad its going ot be bad for a long time!!!!!!

Sorry you broke the leg, but it can be fun getting waited on for a bit

had the exact fx 5-6 years ago.  boot and everything. the fx healed by layering bone over the area(normal), now nagging pain after walking or standing too much.

dr said the fibula and tibia rub on each other a little.
not debilitating, just a pain

Thanks everyone. She is in a boot right now, but still painful. She's a trooper though.  Three months is going to be a long haul to be in that boot.
