OK Britman, I have a question...  The rat rod with the flathead V8.  4 spark plugs and only 3 exhaust headers?  Were the 2 middle cylinders combined into one exhaust chamber, or how does that work?
And the old gray/black car near the end of the pics with the snorkel sticking out of the hood, what kind/model of car is that?

Great find, and you could have taken any of those pics except the first 4. They were edited somehow and made to look unreal.  The green of the trees was too overpowering.  I read in the comments that the guy took them before dawn using the parking lot lighting and edited them with a program..

BM, I knew you didn't go or take the pics, but with your knowledge of older vehicles, thought you might know the answers.
My bad.  Anyone else know why there are 4 spark plugs and only 3 exhaust pipes on the old flat head V8?

Here is what I found. "The exhaust ports run through the block and the center exhaust ports are "Siamesed." That is why there are only three exhaust ports on a side. Rumor has it that Henry Ford was more concerned about warming the engine up quickly in cold Detroit winters than he was with keeping it cool on a hot summer day."

I am not a big fan of late model rigs or red ones for that matter, however there are a few red ones in there that are gorgeous (mostly older ones) and I saw a burnt orange 3rd Generation RX-7 with a Corvette motor that I'd give my left nut for. One of my favs was the late 40's Chevy sedan delivery in the satin Red.

Yep,, the Ford flathead v8 has only 3 exhaust ports per side.. It worked well for them from 1932 thru 1953.. It was really the only way the exhaust could be routed,, between the center cylinder bores while they were routed around to the front and rear of the other cylinders.. The camshaft and all the related hardware was ' in the valley ' so the exhaust had to take the long route thru the block to get out.. They aren't a very efficient engine,, but,, they weren't worried much about way back then.. I worked on many many many of them when younger.. We sold Ford and Studebaker..

Interesting photo style; crisp and almost shiney. The 2 rigs that I got a kick out of the most were the 2 mid-50's VW Pickup trucks, though they had a certain model name.

They were dog slow, only 25 horsepower, but a hoot to drive and real utilitarian because they had a huge storage area under the bed area and access from each side.

I had one of these puppies in the early 70's, hauled all knids of stuff around, but it was just too slow, even for that time. The flip-up windshields were a 'cool' feature and slide-back windows too. Just one of the unusual cars from my youth.
