Seat Cleaning Question

  I had stored my back-up OEM seats , the driver , pass. seat and sissy bar pad all in one big box that had those white shipping foam peanuts that covered up everything on a shelf in my garage  .... Sooo with this last hot summer we had in Texas , some of the white color from the peanuts looks like got alittle warm and left a white imprint on the vinyl  ...  Soooo what can I use to clean off the white styro foam marks on the vinyl ??  Thanks the Geezer

WD40 might get it off. I sprayed gallons of WD40 all over all my dirt bikes, including the seats,
never hurt anything...

I had the same thing happen to a seat a couple of years ago. I thought it was toast, then I tried rubbing it with kerosene on a rag and the stuff came right off. Left a little odor on the seat for awhile, but I imagine if you put it out in the Sun it would probably go away pretty quickly.

If WD 40 doesn't work you could try Goo Gone or maybe some hand degreaser (non pumice kind). Just try it in an inconspicuous place first and wash well after using.

put a drop of gas on one of those peanuts and see what happens

Mothers Back to Black works good on (stock) seats.

I would suggest to never apply anything volatile to the stock seats because the material the seat covers are made of are hydrocarbon based materials and most volatile substances act like solvents to those kind of materials.

  I thank you all for all the fine suggestions , I feel like real DUHHHH !!!  forgetting to take the seats down and dumping those shipping peanuts this last warm summer and then ending up spotting all my back-up seats  ...  Hey SkGregg , I have tried the Goo-be-Gone idea and it did remove a majority of the heavy white spotting but I still have a faded white outline still on the seats , they looks like white ghost freckles  ....  I tried a very little bit of carb cleaner on a rag on a small out of way spot with my index finger and it did nuthin  ....  Soooo Mr. Ricky-D , you did post a comment but no solution  .....  So with all your infinite wisdom on various topics , what do you suggest sir ??  I anxiously await your wisdom posting  ....  Thanks the Geezer

Well, so much for me offering a solution to an exact problem that I had and how I solved it.
The seat I cleaned up with kerosene was a Sargent for the V-Strom & I got ALL the measles off. Good Luck!
