Came to my senses

Looked at the 34 degree temp this morning and grabbed the truck keys instead of the bike keys and walked out the door.

Then I felt that great fall feeling in the air, saw that big full moon...... And went back in, grabbed my jacket, helmet and bike keys. Man, I love Fall. In particular when I'm ridin' in just before the sun comes up straight into a full moon.

Glad I came to my senses. Life's too short to waste any more of it than I have to tied into a cage. The cool thing was, when I got to work, my buds Jim and Matt already had their scooters parked in the lot.

I like riding in the cold. Get suited up good it ain't bad. Bike runs better and better the colder and colder it gets.
We got a large Hispanic population in our workforce at work.
They are cold when the temp hits 60 degrees.

I roll in on the bike in the upper 20's and their heads explode. LOL
They just can't believe it.

And I thought I was tough riding in upper 30's.  Not that I couldn't, but don't feel like putting on 2 layers of bottoms and thicker gloves to ride the cycle under say 40 degrees or so.  Below freezing at 32 degrees is just plain hard core riding in my book.  Worst I have seen is someone with a cardboard on the windshield on what looked like a very old Goldwing in a snow suite and scarf and hunting boots in 10 degree weather in WI with luckily no snow on the pavement but snow all around in the grass, etc.    Going to get a few more rides in before putting the bike up hopefully though but looks like temps not going to get much above 50 for a high anymore darn it.

My wife's last words as I headed for the garage this morning, "Are you sure you want to ride to work today?"

Upper 30's this morning but sunny and 60's this afternoon.

My answer, "Yes!"

I pussed out today.  But there was a solid chance of rain.

i''l do rain.  I'll do cold.  But I don't do them both at the same time...

HAHA You guys are real men.
Though the wife said I should take the truck, I opted to ride the Daughter of Thor.
I motored bravely onto the freeway and toughed out the 28.6 miles to work.
It was 55 this morning. I had to turn the First Gear full liner down twice.
Tammy said something about a "wuss".

I just wear my uniform pants, two pair of gloves, leather jacket and full face helmet. I had to drive the truck today since I had to return a railroad jack to a tool rental company.
