heard on the radio on the way to work just now that the surge
was so bad  there were trains on the New Jersey Turnpike

Hang in there you are doing important work getting the trains moving again

We lost power in half the house (think that means 1 of the 3 phases are out) but heat stayed on no internet  Trees down everywhere but no flooding. Minor damage to the pool from branches falling  nothing serious.

In NYC they said millions without power and in LI may be several weeks before power is back
Seven tunnels under the east river totally flooded  Transit will be out a long while I think in the City and Metro North
So we are lucky this time

I'm isolated here in Cliffwood beach. Can't get out due to the flooding on rt35 both north and south .No power. We're ok but I took some damage from the tidal surge at a house I was having built on Matawan creek. I think the house got away with miminal damage but an existing garage on the property took in 8 feet of water during the surge. Lost a 79 Goldwing, new furniture for the new house, piano, lawn mower, tv and some bedroom furniture . Both Valkyries and a 75 Goldwing were moved to higher ground at a neighbor's  :)

The specs for the new house called for it to be built up high enough to survive a 100 year storm..we,ll see if the DEP was corrected in having me build it 14 feet above MLW. Fortunately the good floor wasn't put down yet. Running on generator power now. So far I got a refrigerator and FIOS running.
Plenty of beer and food. The wife is fine along with my four legged friend Zoey(chocolate lab).

Judy's alright got the younger boy home to help her.
She's a tough old girl don't need me there she's been dealing with me not being there for years while I take care of the trains

In North Jersey, what a night of wind.  I didin't think there would be any trees standing by the morning. Power went out for the third time and finial time 8PM. We feal lucky, having only 2 sideing shingies blow off. Every street had trees down on houses, power lines and on cars. From what I saw today, it may be weeks before the power is back on. I haven't seen TV, but what I hear the tidal surge was devastating.

Well finally got home a little while ago, they told everybody go home get some rest and we will regroup in the morning and give it hell.
Trying to get home was a challenge soooooooooooo many trees and wires down many different roads trying to get around.
