2000 Interstate was rearended last Wed.  Got a 2003 STANDARD fender.  Wiring harness plugs do not match up.  Wish to keep the extra tail/stop light on fender.  Have ordered the Standard sub-harness to get the plugs matched up.  Planning on tying in the trunk lights, hopefully.

Any suggestions or recommendations before I go any further?

Also, still looking around for a lower trunk box, black preferred.  Have had 2 two-toned offered already.  Hoping to avoid painting.

In shop talk, there's a page showing how to add a trunk to a standard. It uses a Hoppes powered converter to power the trunk lights without overloading the fuses. Hoppes #46255 is the converter used.

Do you really think that light unit functioning as a run/stop will over load your system that much? I would just tap into the existing run/stop lines and let it go. JMO.

If you are riding  and it is a must that you keep your eyes on the road, you are riding too fast.

I have added a Standard/Tourer Tail light to my I/S.  I used the Standard/Tourer wiring harness, removed the brake/tail wires from the connector and tapped into the wiring harness for the trunk lights.

People are more passionately opposed to wearing fur than leather because it's safer to harass rich women than bikers.

Ditto, I added the Standard taillight to my I/S and just sliced the harness from the new light into the old one to the trunk.... I think alot of people have done the same thing.....

Ray all four lights on my trunk are run and brake lights and the brake lights flash alternating. I've had no problems with power or fuses. Two 1157 bulbs and two 3496 bulbs and an electronic flasher hooked to two inter bulbs to flash them. When the inner ones come on the outer ones dim some to give them the appearance of flashing too.
