ethanol is not the problem except for it attracting water over time and lowering mpg. it actually is a very good cleaner of the intake tract.  the problem is the components of the gasoline  are now of a lower quality and breakdown within a months time. without the ethanol an engine wouldn't run on the low quality gas components. a little scam of the oil companies.
