Thanks Al.  I'm not gonna deny I had my share of poontang.  At the time I said I'm gonna get some satisfaction out of this mess. Some of my best memories of the Nixon adventure.

I was in the Navy at the tail end of the Vietnam debacle but managed to get stationed on the East coast. I got stories from Naples, Italy...do they count?  :-[

Thanks, Big Al!  For some reason or other I never saw a city over next to Cambodia in 1968 so I never had the pleasure of getting my camera stolen...Jim  ;D

I recognize that clip, although they should havesomething by Creedence for background, Bad Moon Rising, or Run through the Jungle.   Shame on the Pols, we had it won but they caved just a matter of days before the Cong sued for peace.   Just like present, the powers that be are selling the on the ground troopies, think Lybia, Muslem Brotherhood, down the river.  Too bad.

My Dad was with the 1st Marines .
He missed my graduation in 1965 so he
could serve.
He was also a WW2 and Korea vet, never
thought he could  change. That situation changed him.
I cried when he told me changing into street clothes
before walking through the airport.

Yep.  So did I.  Carried street clothes in my carry-on and changed at the first men's room on the concourse at O'Hare.  You had to be in uniform to get military standby flights, much cheaper.  You didn't want to be in uniform in front of our wonderful countrymen who had sent us off to fight for them.
