I think all of us folks, who pay big $$ to the wireless phone companies, should start withholding the $1.15/month "Fed Universal Service Charge" that allows the Obummerites to give the moochers all those free phones......

Saw a story on a news show where this lady had FIVE............FIVEEEEEEEE free phones......when you're only supposed to be able to get ONE.........and ppl wonder why we are in the shape we're in....... :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff:

I got fed up with ALL the extra taxes/fees they added and went to straight talk a year ago. My phone operates on verizon towers, cut my bill in half with more minutes and texts with data and don't pay fees, just the card I buy each month. I'll never go back  :cooldude:

I've thought about that.......but the Wife wanted a new phone a while back and we ended up with iPhones in a package deal.......and I don't think they have those on the straight talk plan......I have the National rate plan since I never know what State I may be in on a bike trip.....and I can do pretty much anything from my phone that I can do from the PC here........guess I'm paying for that......a LOT

Get 1000 texts 1000 minutes and 30  whatever of data that I don't use, but the wife does for $30 each a month. If you want Unlimited all 3 it's $45 a month. Hard to beat  :cooldude:

Thanks.....I'm going to check into that.....sounds like it'd be worth it even with the early service plan cancellation fee

As much as all the freebies or hand outs might be getting to you (me or us).... that free phone is not an Obama (Obummer) initiative.    Check it out here...   http://www.hoax-slayer.com/obama-phone.shtml       Like lots of other government programs, being administered by others or even the government.... there is plenty of opportunity for abuse, and plenty of people to take advantage of or abuse it.

I'd rather see them stop providing monetary support (our tax dollars) to overseas countries that don't support us... or worse yet, want to do us all harm.  Duh.....

I know he didn't start it.......but he OWNS the mess he's inherited.......and I agree with you.....why borrow $$ from the Chinese to send to countries that hate the USA.....they'll do that for free....... :cooldude:

I'm on that straight talk $30.00 a month plan and my 17 year old daughter is on the $45.00 a month unlimited plan. The reason i mentioned my daughter and the fact she is 17 is she are happy with not only the plan but also happy with her phone. The nice thing about the $30.00 plan is-you CAN NOT go over yer minutes and end up paying a premium. You get a warning and if you run out phone no workee til you buy another card. I don't run out and i wish they had a smaller minute package but they don't at this point in time. I cut loose A T & t to get this Straight Talk plan. Every time i turned around A T & T kept jackin the rates with 0 improvement in service. I'm a happy camper now!!  :cooldude: And the fact that i'm saving slightly over 50% what i was paying at A T % T-well that's more gas fer the Phatt Ghurl.  :coolsmiley: RIDE SAFE.

A few years ago I had a "sweet deal" from an old employer.... I kept a Third Party Employee Plan from Sprint.... 700 anytime mins for $20.00 or less a month.  No real data to speak of, but I did have a first gen smart phone I think.... a Kyocera QCP6035.    The phone was still working but it had seen better days after many years of being on that plan.  My daughter told me I should get a new phone 2 years ago, and offered to get it for me for Christmas.... and I told her I would lose that price plan.  She put me on her plan and I got a new Blackberry.... and I pay her $20.00 a month  (actually I make a one time payment on line to her account for the whole amount).

Stanley... you should look into an employee or association discount plan if it is available to you, or maybe with some other group (AAA or AARP?   ;D)
