The James Dean's 1955 Triumph TR5 500cc Trophy will be displayed starting November 23, 2012 at the Indiana State Museum for an "Eternal James Dean" exhibit. Almost in perfect condition, Dean owned it only a few months before he was killed at the age of 24 in a car crash while driving his Porsche. the "Rebel Without A Cause" was born in Marion and raised on the farm of his uncle in Fairmount, Indiana after his mother passed away. The museum will also exhibit the "'1949 Ford (red, huge white walls) Dean borrowed from his uncle to ferry his date to and from his high school prom, but not his Porsche because it disappeared after his death and was never recovered.
