got out for a morning ride just about 150 mi.  nice weather, low 70s.  riding along for several hours thinking of everything i am thankful for.  about 40 mi from my house to the south entrance of jshua tree nat park.  then up through CO desert to the higher elevation mojave desert for about 60 miles on 2 lane park roads about an easy 50 mph, a few miles over limit with sparse traffic.

a change in the flora as you go up from low desert to high desert.  lots of creosote down low and then ocotillo and through cholla cactus fields (gotta watch out for those "jumping cactus") and finally up in higher elevation the namesake joshua trees and amazing rock formationsl

then out the west entrance and about 50 mi down out of the mtns home.  now watching nfl and soon for big thanksgiving family dinner.  nice day.  :cooldude:

 cholla cactus field

higher elevation with joshua trees and rock formations riding through park.  great day so far.

Don,

looks like an awesome ride. I would love to have that kind of scenery within 100 miles of me.

Nice ride report  :cooldude:  Thanks for taking the time to share . That's like a whole 'nother world to what we see on our rides.

I've seen alot of people that thought they were cool , but then again Lord I've seen alot of fools.

Thanks Don! Goin campin Fri. in terrain not unlike what you rode thru! No Valkyrie this trip but have a few 4-wheelers that ought to produce some excitement! :cooldude:

Nice ride.  It is so different from the East.  But I remember it.

Thanks Don, nice pics.   Cholla give other cactus a bad name.

One of the nicest things about riding in Ca, Az, Nev is the almost total lack of Tar Snakes. Some of the scenery ain't bad either.

Don, thanks for the report. J-Tree is always beautiful this time of year, the weather and the scenery. Love to camp and climb there in the winter. Hope to see you soon.
