My name is Cal and I'm a newbie. Purchased my first Valk about 6 weeks ago, 2002 Standard. I've been reading the old tech archives about the Utopia backrest. Is the Utopia still the backrest of choice?  ???

Been thinking of maybe riding to this Inzane thing and a backrest might be nice to have. Never used one before. I have the stock 2002 seats, I understand no mods needed, just bolt on?  ???

Thanks,

Cal :coolsmiley:

I would say it's about as good as they come.  I have one on my Std with a Ultimate King Boy and it's the Best!  No mods needed, just bolt on. :cooldude:

I've had one since 2002 and do not like riding bikes without it.  It's a great product.

I have an I/S and the hardest part about the install was having to cut the seat

I love mine. On the standard, take off the pilots seat. Take off the 2 bolts holding on the front of the rear seat. Put the Utopia mount on the 2 holes from the rear seat insert and tighten bolts. Put the ilots seat back on. Adjust the backrest height. Kick back and enjoy.
My bike handles better thru curves if I have my feet up on the huighway pegs. If I have my feet up for very long my back hurts. With the backrest, cumfy.

I have had the Utopia for about 6 years.  I think it is very comfortable / durable.  Best way to go with the stock seat.  My buddy say's I do not ride a motorcycle - that thing is a couch.  Get it you will be happy.

You guys all short?
I tried a few seats with back rests, and they sit me too far forward, along with the seats.
The only back rest that fit my 6'2" frame was the low rider corbin seat and back rest.

My Utopia allows me to adjust so I sit right where I want to be.

I ordered my and waiting for it to arrive... :cooldude:.  Does anyone out ther have a photo by photo guide or video clip on how to install the back rest ???  (similar to the rear speaker mod).  The instruction diagram from Utopia does not apper clear.

Thanks!

That's my used unit on evilbay. Here's a link to Utopia's site. There are directions on the site. Install takes about 54 minutes.

I have had one for about 4 years now and I love it.  The hardest thing to do is cut that slit in your saddle to put the back support through
