The only good forest rat is cut up-put in freezer wrap-then put in the freezer-then served up when i have a taste fer venison.  RIDE SAFE.

I love the Winchester .30 .30, got one just like it, offset scope and all.  Killed many bambi's until I went blind in my dominate eye.  Son's got it now, has killed several more.    He works on a hunting preserve. Hoser

That one is a Marlin. Side eject with a crossblock saftey. I started on a Win 94 in 32 spl but I didnt like the fact that they have no safety, yeah I know that the best safety is between the ears, however I like the idea of a mechanical backup. I got it for her when she started and handloaded some reduced recoil loads, and she is 5 deer in 5 years with 5 shots.

The son is using a used Rem 700 in 25-06 (that he won't give to me) I picked up for him and he is 3 for 3 for 3.

Teach them to shoot and you don't have to track, and I told them that if they hit them in the plumbing and HVAC I will congratulate them and gut it, if the shoot it in the shoulder I will ask them why they are wasting meat and then congratulate them and gut it, if they hit it in the guts I will drop the knife off and come back in 2 hours.

Now I have a craving for some good deer jerky! 

I brought back 4 bags of beef jerky from Clint and sons out of White Deer Texas.  They are all gone now, funny how you can close the bag, put it in your desk drawer, and it is still gone in 20 minutes.  I do not care for the stuff you can buy at Wally World or most other stores. Too mushy and sweet for me.  The only other mass marketed jerky I enjoyed was at the Beaver stops in Southeast Texas. Thier elk and deer jerky was very good.
