What a great game Mark!  A good ol' SEC slugout. I think Alabama will beat Notre Dame but they will probably be scrappy.

I'm an SEC fan but keep in mind that ND has a good run defense and they are good at controlling the clock. AL can't afford to make the # of mistakes that they made last night. It was a good game but there were too many mistakes, i.e. turn overs and coaching.

I did'nt have a dog in the race last night but after the cheap head shot on the Georgia quaterback I started pulling for Georgia hoping they would win.The championship game with Notre Dame will be a massacre with no mercy from The Tide.

I was the the game last nite - WHAT A GAME!  Such a shame that there had to be a loser - Georgia definitely deserves a BCS bowl game.  I haven't seen the cheap shot yet, but if that is truly what it was, he needs to sit at home for the NC game.  VERY thankful for Georgia's poor management of time at the end!

The zebras ignored a lot of Alabama penalties yesterday. And I don't care how good ND's run defense may be. Those horses that the Tide have on the O'line will take care of that. And yes, Dial should have been flagged for a helmet to helmet hit. But I bet Saban patted him on the helmet and said "Good job" on the sideline.

Now, show the video of the Georgia player gouging the eyes of CJ Mosley.

Although the hit looked bad, in the event of a interception, the QB becomes a defender and is fair game to be blocked if he attempts to tackle the ball carrier.  Look at the video again and you will see Murray was clearly moving in the direction of the ball carrier. That's why a penalty was not called.

Murray was jogging to a play that was all but dead anyway. Look...I'm not making excuses for anyone. But the zebras clearly missed a helmet to helmet collision last night. Along with a ton of other calls that should have been made. That hit was equal to the hit that dope addict LSU player put on Kirkpatrick last year in Tuscaloosa. And all the houndstooth faithful screamed bloody murder over that. But hey, that's football. And it didn't stop the kid from throwing the ball all over Alabama last night anyhow. He proved his mettle last night over and over again....despite being targeted by Dial. And whether or not Moseley got his eyes gouged or not doesn't excuse a dirty hit.

Ewwwwww...that was nasty....

I don't know the rules well enough to say one way or the other...to me, it looked like the Bama guy saw a chance to open up a can of whoopazz on GA's quarterback...whether in that situation if it was legal or not, I don't know...but with the ref right there, maybe it was legal...hopefully the SEC will answer it for us with either a suspension or why it was a legal hit....

The announcers said that from a different camera angle (that I don't believe that they showed) that the ref's view was blocked by another player.  Apparently this type of thing can be reviewed via tape and a player can be suspended one game after the fact.

Definitely a cheap shot.  If it wasn't helmet to helmet, it wouldn't have been so bad.  The Packer game today there were a couple helmet to helmet contacts that most did not consider a cheap shot, just a solid hit from the defensive backs on wide receivers, and yet the refs threw the flag anyways.  More and more concussions are coming out of hits like this and should be flagged but suspensions should come of ones like on the video shown since was a definite cheap shot.  Throw the idiot out of the game and suspend him for a few games with fines, even if college player. 

I remember in high school I was on the kickoff return team and as soon as I turned around to block,  the opposing player had a full head of steam and decleated me throwing me 5 yards back into the air.  Of course, the legal but still cheap shot was all caught on tape and Saturday morning our entire team kept replaying the hit.  Didn't live that one down for a long time.  I got up from the hit ASAP and he was very lucky he ran off the field ASAP was so pissed off. 

Now,   the WI Badgers finally woke up and blew their opponents away scoring an unheard of 70 points.  Stanford better watch out in the Rose Bowl if the Badgers can play like that yet again.

That's what I saw as well....As stated it did'nt matter to me who won but after that I found myself pulling for Georgia.....Tennessee Vols suck so bad right now I can't even watch them play    We've shelled out about 10 million dollars in the last four years on coaches and are again without a coach.

The Dawg QB should be looking for that.  I made a career out of head hunting guys not paying attention, or loafing down the field.  That said... they have made rules about helmet to helmet contact, and in THAT vein, I think it was actionable.  Either thru penalty or suspension.

IMO, they are not going to be able to stop the helmet to helmet contact until they put these guys back in leather helmets.  Do that... and the concussions will go WAY down.
