You might want to avoid 515.  There is a 2-mile stretch between Gamblin (east of Emory) and Gilbreth (at 154) where the pavement has been removed leaving a mix of walnut-size gravel and red dirt.  Not treacherous, but not real fun either.  I felt like I was with Patron and Bo in ol' Mexico.
