Pirelli Night Dragon Tires

Anybody try using the 140/80H-17 on the front versus a 150/80-17 OEM tire?  Currently runnnig a Metzler 880 and it is time for new.  Thought I'd try a change.

Haven't tried the Night Dragons but I run their Sport Demons on the 754 with good results.
They make a 130/90-17 in bias ply that I'll prob go with once the Avon Roadrider I'm runnin' now wears out.
Pirelli & Metzler are the same company now. Caint remember who bought who.

Hey whiskey, are you running that roadrider on the front?  I really im running that tire on the front of mine and it is cupping really bad. Im thinking now I should be running it in reverse rotation. I run 42 psi in it. I have to replace it after only 4000 miles. Just wondering if I screwed up and what I should do. I have also looked at that pirelli. Thinking about going back to a normal front tire instead of a rear on the front. Dont mean to hi jack your thread sergeant.

Yo, Gavin................I'm runnin' the roadrider, in forward direction, on the front, at 42 psi, with nitrogen. 1/4 oz. static wheel weight, (gave up on the "dyna beads", too much shake!)
Lovin' it! Grip is excellent, with no cupping at 4500 mi's.
Plan to go with the Pirelli next time 'cause the Avon "roars" alot. Slightest lean, & you "hear" this tire.
I've had good luck on Pirelli's with 2 CB 750 4's & I know they make a 130/90-17 in Bias ply, (I'm runnin' it on my '77 754 rear).
I'm "Double Goofy", as Lucky 13 calls it, & I'm not goin' back!
I'm sure this is the best "grip" for my mountain. Most other people call it "The Dragon".

The new front tire is about a half inch shorter overall, which will affect the speedometer and probably shorten the lifespan some, but I'm looking for grip versus life.  Metzler was a good tire, but I had Pirellis on the Virago and they were great.  Pirelii bought Metzler, so in the end, it may all be the same.
