Diminished Value

Has anyone had a bike accident and afterwards filed for and received "diminished value" compensation due to the accident ? 

Has anyone filed for "diminished value" and been denied and challenged the amount offered ?

My Valk's been repaired (other driver's fault), but the accident has probably affected it's resale value.

I'd appreciate anyone's inputs.

Good question.   I've wondered about that myself.
A neighbor bought a new Avalon last Janurary.  A couple of months ago, a guy ran a red light, hit it, & did $17,000 damage to the car.  Before having his dealer do the body work, he talked to him about just trading it for a new one as it was.  They could not come to terms because of the "diminished value" of the car with the repair on it's record.  It looks fine, & was repaired with new parts, but unless he drives it until it's ready for the junkyard, the day he does sell, he will have to absorb that "diminished value".
