This is a nightmare bill and a half. She will introduce it on the 3'rd of January. When you die, your guns go to the government, not your kids. If you beleive in the 2'nd Amendment and you voted for the current administration.... SLAP YOURSELF.

Sometimes when I buy something really extravagant for myself and my lovely spousal unit asks how much it cost, I'll initially tell her 3 to 4 times the actual cost, because once she's recovered from the initial shock and I tell her the REAL price it doesn't sound quite so bad.

I suspect this is something similar. They know they'll never get something this extreme through, so they're trying to scare us with what could be first, hoping we'll then roll over and accept a less extreme, but still unacceptable "compromise."

When it comes to our basic rights and freedoms, there can be no compromise.

If you're not a member of the NRA, the GOA and whatever your local state gun rights group is, please sign up ASAP. This is going to be a long and expensive fight to preserve our freedoms. Yeah, the NRA isn't perfect, but they're the best thing we've got at that level and that size.

you didn''t mention that "assault guns" will be treated exactly like NFA controlled weapons(machine guns, short BBL rifles, silencers) by having to register, pay the $200 fee and ask permission from ATF to move across state lines.

Obviously Feinstein is enjoying some of that legalized marijuana. And based on her bill, it must be
some good stuff.   :o

No I didn't. I didn't want to misinterpret or misrepresent anything about that piece of crap bill. I thought I'd just let everyone read it for themselves. Such a bill could never get past the current supreme court, at least I don't think it could. They must be counting on at least one of the justices who has been upholding freedom to die, get ill or retire, none of them are young, maybe one is fighting a fatal desease and the public doesn't know it yet. Or, as was mentioned, it's a scare tactic to help get something a little less evil passed.

Any way you go, that's incredibly scary stuff. Hard to beleive such a bill could even be considered in the USA. Our Founding Fathers must be spinning in their graves.  :( :( :(

Sadly since the Supreme Court wrote its own law in the Obamacare bill decision by allowing the Federal government to dictate what a subject has to purchase, anything goes with this group. You purchase what the government says you need or you pay the fine/tax. The Representative Democracy form of a Republic has been lost for a few years already. Much investment from out of the country stopped soon after the Federal government took GM away from it's rightful stockholders and give it to the UAW. At that point the free enterprise system was dealt a deathblow.

All the best,

Or... buy a Taurus firearm before the end of the year and get your one year NRA membership for Free (Paid by Taurus).   And might I suggest a companion revolver to your already owned SA Pistol.

I doubt this will get through as written, or any tax per unit.  Like someone said - maybe just a scare tactic to make a less onerous bill seem OK by comparison.  In any case - my question is, how many or what percentage of patriots / 2nd amendment people would register ANY guns with the govt.  Registration / licensing is the prerequisite to confiscation.  If I had any guns I wouldn't register them.  Not even a pellet rifle.

Why does she think it is okay to pose a tax on exercising a constitutional right?  Do pornographers have to pay a tax to exercise their 1st amendment rights.  Do church goers or Satan worshipers pay a tax to exercise their freedom of religion?  What expense is their to the Government to owning a semi-automatic weapon that would justify a $200 tax.  To me it is a fine or penalty to discourage purchase.

Feinstein is a moron, and so is anyone who voted for her.

She thinks it's ok to fingerprint legal gun owners!! She thinks it's okay to register and fill out God only knows how much paperwork to maintain a constitutional right.... and pay some big bucks for the opportunity to hold a slim vestige of a constitutional right!!????  And at almost any time for any reason, someone from the BATF can come and confiscate your firearm because a person in Washington "feels it looks a little scary"???????

And yet, I'd bet any money she feels asking someone to show an ID card before they vote is an utter violation of a person's rights!!!?  Talk about priorities  bass-ackwards!!!

These people are dangerous to our God-given rights!!!

Renew your memberships to the NRA and  other legitimate gun owners rights groups ASAP!! We're in for an epic battle I'm afraid.

California ranks as having the strictest gun control laws in the nation (source: The Brady Campaign)....and also leads the nation as the state with the most murders by firearms as well (source: FBI Uniform Crime Reports). So, how can she make the connection between stricter gun control/fewer gun crimes if her very own state directly contradicts such an insane assertion?

There is not one in Congress that I trust but we have to let them know where we stand.  As far as Feinstein is concerned, she is a powerful moron.

Above all, don't sit back and let them pass a 'lesser' bill.  That's just what they want.  That's like asking for a Mercedes Benz but having your sights on a Ford.  We will lose if any bill is passed.

As far as the Supreme court is concerned, don't count on them either.

That doesn't leave us much.  I don't think that Washington understands what is happening here among gun owners.

tank_post142

there is president for the $200 tax. it has been in place for full auto weapons, AOW, short barreled, silencers, etc.  since the 1930s as a way to deter ownership of the constitutionally protected weapons.

Couldn't agree more. We have to expect to win completely. No new restrictions of any kind and we have to let our congressman and senators know we expect them to protect us from these anti-freedom extremists.
