It looks in very good shape.  Windows aren't broken, shakes look good, shutters still there and most important, the roof shingles look together.

This reminds me of many years ago in Apex, Ky. My brother-in-law asked me to take a ride with one Sat night. Drove down a rut road and came up on a house like this one with a old rustie Packard setting by the road in a ditch. Ray blew his horn and I asked what was going on and he said wait a minute. Two minutes later a man came out of the Packard with a gal. of SHINE. He had a 30 Yd. tunnel from the house to his "STORE"  Was good SHINE, I don`t remember what went on after that .

If rain's not getting through the roof and termites aren't eating up the sills and joists, old
houses can be really solid. They don't get old if they're crummy... I always dream of
getting an old house that hasn't been all modernized and updated. I passed by an
abandoned house that looked like a real winner on my way to Rock Hill on back roads
over Christmas... too close to the road though...

I love that stuff. Nothing but potential right there. That looks to be about 1936 Hump Back Chevy.
Throw a couple of bug bombs innit and come back tomorrow. That house is in good shape as stated earlier and probably worth what you'd pay in wood. Real seasoned hard wood.

You can tell that house was built by someone with some money.  The trim details, the porch, the returns all show quality.

The ridge is straight and the chimney looks good.

Can't say much about the car, I'm a wood guy, but it looks good too.

I've repaired worse looking buildings than that.

joe, next time you go back, go inside and take some pictures!!  i'd bet the wood work is outstanding!!  well, then those floating orbs in the picture might only be dust, then again, they might be little demons!!

Two money pits there, the tail end of someones dreams and hopes for the future.  Always sad at sights such as this and wish I could know the full story, happiness, tragedty, riches, or ruin.  Points up that nothing in this world is permanent, even after many successful years, bit by bit the earth will reclaim what came from it.  Also speaks volumes of how our society has changed over the years, for the worse I am afraid.
