That is proposed every two years from what I've been told. Doesn't sound like it's anything new or anything specifically related to the current administration.

An argument can be made (by someone smarter than me)  that our country was weakened when we put term limits on the presidency.  Would it be better or worse for our country if the second term of a potus wasn't a 'lame duck' term?

If term limits is good for the potus, why not put the same term limits on the other congress critters?

An argument can be made (by someone smarter than me)  that our country was weakened when we put term limits on the presidency.  Would it be better or worse for our country if the second term of a potus wasn't a 'lame duck' term?

If term limits is good for the potus, why not put the same term limits on the other congress critters?

I would think term limits was to stop a would be dictator who could control the voting by military might.......or lying....or ballot cheating.....etc....check out some of the voting irregularities in the strongly democratic areas.....and once he gets rid of our guns you may see the military controlling the voting,.

a good friend of mine has informed me that our military leaders are sworn to defend us and our constitution from all enemies, foreign AND DOMESTIC. I would assume this would apply to a Dictator.

lLast week someone posted a picture somewhere that showed a WW2 scene.   There was a ditch that was long and narrow dug and it was half full of bodies.  At the edge of this ditch is another round of people to be executed kneeling at the edge of the ditch with a soldier behind each one with a gun to the back of the head of the person to be executed.   The picture has a little cloud at the top with an arrow pointing to the soldiers and it says "Soldiers obeying orders".    At the bottom of the ditch is a cloud pointing at theose to be executed saying "Citizens obeying gun laws"

The soldiers will do what they are told to do when faced with death themselves.

that would be cool if we could term limit congress, however it would have to be an amendment and voted for by both houses. any ideas how we get them to vote for thier own pink slip?
