OK Ben... Make your "war face".

At Ben's wrestling tournament today... there was no one in his age and weight bracket.  There were NO other 5 year old 60 lbers.  So... we put him into the next age group up  6 and 7 year olds.  He was 1 and 1.  Pinned the 1st kid in 7 seconds.  Got pinned in the 2nd match in 10 seconds.

This was before either Match.

This is the ONLY action shot I managed in 17 whole seconds of wrestling today.



At least the boy isn't SHAPED like his Ol'Man.

I was a toehead blond at his age too.

My dad the Marine Sgt was teaching me to defend myself at that age.  We moved 15 times before I hit 1st grade, so I was the new kid all the time.

The boy makes my laugh.  He's such a nice kid.  I have to poke him with briers to get him to be a little bit mean.

He does 30 pushups every night before bed.   And usually 30-50 situps too.  He says it helps him go to sleep.

The boy can do pull ups and chin ups too.  He's strong as a buffalo, but has a lot more finesse.  Unlike his dad who was always all buffalo, and no finesse.

Sometimes I wish I had kids earlier in life, but I KNOW I am a better daddy at 44 than I would have been at 24.
