     Took a 400 mile ride to Ron's wrench party in Frankfort this past Saturday. Due to flash flood warnings at home I had to go in the cage   . As it turned out, only Tim from Louisville rode his Valkyrie down for the event. Ron had some new super sexy gauges to add to his ride along with a new set of hardbags. I had my camera but I am not much of a photographer as only about 3 shots were any good. It's just as well though as many of you may know, Ron is even sexier than his new gauges and for this reason cannot afford to have his picture out there on the net. It seems the fairer sex cannot control there impulses when they see his image ???  For this reason, I can only post this picture,



    It was interesting to see what was involved in installing the sending units and wiring harness for the volt meter, water temperature, and oil pressure gauges. Ron was the main assistant to Richard the mechanic on duty and I'm sure he will be willing to handle the installs for any of you who can make to trip to his place! We had so much fun with the gauges, we had to save the bags install for a later time.

    Got to meet some new folks, had a good time, good pizza, and some 4 alarm cheesebread. Just wanted to say thanks to Ron for being a great host and an enjoyable day.

I hope everyone had as much fun as I did.  Took a heck of a lot longer than I thought it would and to be honest, that belly tank/interstate tank conversion didn't help the situation.  Those instructions being in German with some english included were a challenge the first time but would be a lot easier the second.

I really enjoyed seeing you and the rest of the Kentucky Valkyrie Riders that came.  Next Spring let's do a Meet, Greet and Eat somewhere in the middle of the state.  I'll try to not break anything to include cameras.

Yeah John, where's the pics of the gauges installed?  Sorry Gavin, I was busy trying to help though, I might have been a hinderance.  John was incharge of pics.

      Well it goes like this, I started taking pics when I got the the shop at 10 AM. I put the camera back in the car 4 hours later and the gauges were still not mounted. I failed to go back and get the camera when I left at 5 PM as they were wired up and in place. We just had no gas tank, windshield or saddlebags. If need be, I'll drive back up to Frankfort and get some more shots this weekend.

I've still got that guest room available.  Tell ya what, I'll go get a pic of them thar gauges and send it to you to post.  Let's not be critical of the photographer, he's got feelin's to ya know.  

It still ain't got a gas tank on it.  But, hopefully it will have tomorrow.  Things don't always go as planned.  What can I say?

Was that a package deal you bought for your bike? Or all individual guages? Did you make the bracket or did it come complete? Looks real good on there. I need a few sets...

It's a set, Motosen Gauges.  They make several different guages,  there are two more that can be mounted outside of the tach and the speedometer for a total of five. can be mounted in any configuration/priority you choose.  Comes with wiring harness and all mounting hardware.  I considered the other two gauges but they were not gauges I considered necessary and cluttered up the area but, that's just my opinion.  They also have a analog clock and a pod that can replace or duplicate the warning lights/turn signals.  They may offer more but, I got what I wanted.  You may want a more complete set or different guages than I did.  It's all about what you want, the information you want to see and the look you're after in my humble opinion. 

I hate idiot lights.  The way this package is set up, the OE lights still operate to provide that warning light but I'm able to monitor the gauges as I ride.   I like it that way. should I be enjoying the ride or scenery and something go wrong the light will still light up.  Reminds me of the way the caution lights were set up in the helicopters I used to fly.  Not for everyone to be sure but I like them.

Nice folks to deal with, be sure to tell them you're a VRCC member and give them your VRCC member number for a discount.  I didn't know this at first when I ordered but was made aware by another member, called just before I sent the International USPS Money Order and got the discount.
I also didn't know they would only take an International Money order.  Didn't even know such a thing existed and yes, it is more expensive than a regular ole domestic version.  Not sure why but, now you know.
