So sad, this even happened in my hometown of 1,100 a few days ago.  NO shooting, but could have been since he was stupid enough to try to disarm the local police officer.    I know the kid and he has been nothing but trouble off and on not all upstairs like most of their family.  His youngest sister is in my daughters class in high school and although she has gotten better with age, still don't want her hanging around with her. In 4th grade that youngest sister who is also in special ed classes punched my daughter for NOTHING besides mental instability in the ribs and got bruised pretty bad right in front of the teacher and took 3 teachers to subdue her punching and biting and kicking and screaming and swearing all the way to the office.  Only a slap on the wrist and a 3 day suspension is all.  Had a long 1 hour talk with the principal the next morning and also got the police involved stating to all who would listen this will NOT happen again or I will made darn sure she is kicked out of school and go above and beyond what they will be doing.  Anyway, here is the story of the older sibling who is very troubled to say the least:

They say he is being treated as an adult in court. If he is tried an a juvenile, he will get 6 years. As an adult he prolly get life. Thats gonna cost us tax payers a lot for the next 50 years or so.
