The Weather: Baby it's Cold Outside

Wouldn't you know it, I had a mod done to my motorcycle recently and was riding this past weekend and noticed something not quite right. Upon finishing my ride I called the shop/mechanic that did the mod and told him. He told me to bring it in today he would work on getting it right.

Well, today was my day off so I agreed. Last night's weather forecast was for single digit temps with it warming up to mid twenties but clear and dry today. Being a man of my word, I bundled up and headed out early. Won't lie about it, it was a tad cool. But, on the way there I saw some folks I knew and got the funniest reactions. I've got the only Valkyrie like mine in the area so, everyone that saw me and knows me, knew who it was. Of course, they didn't know why I was out riding but then, who cares.  Passed one of those time and temp signs, although I don't know it was completely accurate, it said it was 9 degrees.  With windchill, it was as I said, a tad bit on the cool side.  ;)

Regardless, on my way to the shop, I went right by the state capital building. As many know, Kentucky currently has a Democrat as governor. He's not a bad guy but he and I have different priorities. Anyway, at a traffic light I'm stopped at, there were several Dems standing there waiting on something and it occurred to me that this was the first time I'd seen this.  I know they were Dems because all of them were wearing those damn blue ties.  It's harder to tell with the ladies but, that story is for another thread.  As I said, it was cold.  And then I realized it.

It was so cold, I saw Democrats with their hands in their own pockets instead of another person's pockets. I want to thank mother nature for showing me that this is possible.

Hey, it was all true, it wasn't intended as a joke at first.  Let me assure you, it was a tad bit cool riding in this morning.

It was -28c this morning when I went to work.  They said that with the windchill it felt like -40c.  Too damn cold for me.  The older I get the less I care for the cold.  Used to love it when I was younger, not anymore.  My wife and I are really thinking that when we retire we are moving some place warm like Costa Rica or Belize.

If global warming is happening...why is it so cold up here?
