I'm replacing my current National Cycle Heavy Duty Windshield. They no longer make model N2250 for the Valkyrie. So I'm considering buying the 2UP Switchblade with the quick release. Does anyone on the forum here currently have one on their Valkyrie and If so how do you like it and is it sturdy like a permanently mounted one?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Gerry

I have the 2-up on my '98 Gerry. I like it and am confident in it's performance. It's sturdy enough for my liking. It was on the bike when I bought it. I'll probably go with the shorter windshield in the near future because I like looking over the top of the windscreen and the 2-up is a little tall to do that.

I have a 2000 standard Valk.  I've had the National Cycle Switchblade (2 UP) for several years.  I occasionally tighten the 4 mounting rollers (allen head), that's all.  It's been stable well beyond posted
speed limits.  Recently added  Big Bike Things wind wings to minimize air flow coming up around the tank sides.

My only 'con' for the 2 UP: it sits more veritcal than the Honda OEM windshield and therefore (I guess) has somewhat more wind turbulence.  There's no 'easy' fix to tilt the 2UP back toward the rider.

It's really great on a nice day, with no interstate travel, to pull the windscreen and ride "nude", so to speak.

I have a NC 2up switchblade on my vtx1300R and it is ok for short distance riding but for me (your bike may be different) the is a BUNCH of buffeting out on the interstate.  Anything over 60 and yet get the bobble head effect from wind coming up from under the shield by the tank.  The shield is firmly mounted and have no worries of it blowing off going down the road and the quick removal is a nice feature.  LIke has been mentioned before it seems as if the shield is a more of a straight up design verses a more laid back (tilted) mount.  If you have wind deflectors or lowers (which I don't have) it may be a little better to get rid of the highway buffeting.

I want to thank everyone who jumped in with their input. My decision has been made. I just ordered the 2 up switch blade and the mounting kit. I got the full size windshield from a guy on eBay brand new for $150 and the mounting kit from classic cruisers.com for $121.

For anyone interested I'll be removing my national cycle heavy duty windshield model #N2250 and I'll be selling the windshield mounts and the extra added trim kit I got for the bike if anyone is interested.

Thanks everyone for helping make a good decision.

Hi,
I know this is an old post but I wondered if you had the National Cycle mounting kit for the n2250 windshield?
Thank you.
