I did a search and was unable to find a list of the colors/models the Valks came out in each year? Is there such a list? I saw a 2001 Interstate that looks like a goldish/black combo. Was that the only year the Interstate came in that color scheme?

Here's the one I'm referring to:

Thanks for the link.

Interesting, though, that the website says that the '98 Standard did not come in Red & Cream, yet I owned a '98 in exactly that color scheme. And the I.D. plate indicated '98. Someone's confused. Did I have a '97 all along and sold some guy a '97 while advertising it as a '98?

Maybe someone out there who understands serial numbers can tell me. Number on my bike was:

1HFSC3407WA103274

Does the '07' in the number mean it was a '97? There's not an '8' or '98' anywhere in there.

Vin # information is on Dag's website as well....He did a outstanding job putting that together if you plan on keeping the Valkyrie you should add too favorite's  :cooldude:

I've seen alot of people that thought they were cool , but then again Lord I've seen alot of fools.

Valk_ca

Thanks again. Found the page that interpreted the VIN. The 'W' in my VIN did signify it was a '98 model. Which makes the valkyrienorway site wrong in saying that no red & cream Valks were produced in '98. I got the pics and VIN to prove they did. Maybe I'll send him a note and see what he says about it.

Oh, and I did bookmark the site.  :cooldude:

Valk_Ca, are you sure someone didn't swap out tins with a 97?

Put up a picture of it as there was a Red&White and a Red&Cream.

They were produced in 2 different years.

Interesting. The Valk Norway site doesn't make a distinction between Red& White and Red&Cream. Mine was definitely a Red&Cream. Right?

That is a Red-Cream.

I know 3 people that have that color.

Called and talked to all of them.

They said theirs was a Tourer and a 98.

Since yours is a Std, I'd say some one traded out  tins to get the Red-Cream.

Happy hunting.   Ya might check with the PO and see if they did in fact change tins.

I agree completely. Its a 1998 model. Tin said it was manufactured in '10/97' and 1998 model.

The confusion arises when you look at the Valk Norway site and read their take on color schemes for each year. The Valk Norway site doesn't acknowledge that the 1998 model came out in Red&Cream. A mistake on their part.

Hoser

Here is the correct color chart, our color is the most common of all but black, according to this info due to it being offered for three different years.
Sedona red and pearl ivory is the same as dark red and pearl Ivory.  Hoser

There's some confusion here... the Valkyrie Norway (http://www.valkyrienorway.com/COLORS.html) site clearly shows the 1998 Standard AND Tourer were offered in a "Pearl Dark Red & Pearl Ivory" color combination.

Valk_ca

AHHH!! That explains it. The link Pappy put up takes you to a different, incomplete, page:

The link from WamegoRob is more accurate.

Thanks again. Shoulda looked closer. Got distracted by Go Daddy commercial (Super Bowl). ;D

more fuel. I have a 98 ( also stamped on the engine ) strawberries and cream as some call it standard that is now a tourer. When I learn how to use a camera and post , I will include pictures. I was at Inzane 12 and took third place in mild mods. The oem bags are scalloped and have dragons on them with oem colors. Iwill be at I-13.

98 std    680 made
98 tourer  660

One of the most produced color combos.

Trying to figure out why some think that color on their bike was not produced?

I'm blaming Pappy.  ;D

He posted this link to Valk colors: http://www.valkyrienorway.com/About%20the%20Valk%20NEW.html

That link only shows a limited amount of colors as compared to the link you've posted.
