It gives you info on each states helmet laws and even laws of other countries. Good for iphone and android. Easy to use and informative. Best of all it is free.

Remember though, most Free Choice states do have certain restrictions.
To ride in a state that allows you that freedom, inform yourself about these laws and insurance requirements.

ABATE and the AMA are a better source of restrictions and requirements.

I like this one better.    Ya don't have to go searching around to find the information, BUT, no across the pond or down under info.

Fudgie you are sure missing some good riding areas. We have a choice here in Oklahoma but Missouri has a helmet law. Some very great riding in SW Mo. Maybe because we have a choice here, I don't mind wearing mine and while riding from Ok. to Ar., we may want to come back thru Mo. so we can with no worries.

It dont really bother me but Kit hates the lid. Get tired of her b!**$ing.  :2funny: Since we found these novelty helmets a few yrs ago it has helped out. Alot more comfy and less 'restricting'.

Last year they changed the helmet law here. Now its choice. I've worn a helmet since 68 so its always been part of my riding. There are a bunch of rallies in the state and one is in Baldwin Michigan. I have a house up there and have attended this blessing for 30 yrs.

Last year was no  different. But, I had gone to the doctor and they found skin cancer on my ear. Doc said right then and there, "lay down this is leaving". He is our family doctor and I had just lost my mom to cancer. Well, my helmet strap comes across my ear right where the cancer was removed and the doc said don't screw with what he had done.

It was either stay home or go without a helmet and I was going! Years of wearing a helmet and all of a sudden just not wearing one was extremely weird! I felt kinda outa sorts if ya know what I mean?
Since my scooter accident when I was hit in the ass my neck and back give me problems. No helmet made it easier on my neck and for years I've worn a novelty helmet cause its light. The only time I wear a helmet now is when its cold.

I  have opinions about the pro's and con's of wearing and not wearing a helmet. Most come from  covering mototcycle accidents.  Some with some pretty ugly injury and some with death. Helmets aren't a cure all either. Blunt trauma to the body even without a head injury will kill you just as fast as whacking your gord. As far as I'm concerned, it should be choice in every state. But be willing to accept the consequences which ever direction your decide to go. Just my opinion.
