"The people who will be checked if the president gets his way are the law-abiding, sane, decent Americans," LaPierre said. "It's going to be our names, the names of good people that will be put into this massive database subject to federal registration and subject to abuse of your privacy. And none of it ... does anything to keep our children safer in schools."

how ironic  that a country with thousands of nuclear weapons of all
yields is so concerned with limiting the ability of its people to defend
themselves against enemies domestic and foreign including the government
itself

that a country that has a first amendment to protect the right of the people to
express their religious beliefs will do anything to keep religion out of schools and
the minds of young people

that a country which send its young people to war only to return to no medical benefits or work
is run by those with lifetime benefits for hardly any work or risk at all
