Why isn't it Obama's fault?

I have a photo on my phone from August 1, 2008 showing a gas pump I used when regular gas cost $3.79

At the time the Dem/Lib/Prog media AND politicians were howling for Bush to take the blame.

http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2012/02/video-flashback-obama-and-dems-blast-bush-for-gas-prices-in-2008/

Today local regular costs $3.79 and the two faced, sycophantic, hypocritical  Dem/Lib/Prog media  are as still as the grave.

Transparently pathetic but the willingly ignorant voters are happy to clamp their rapacious mouths on to the Govt teat.

Have they not noticed that they seem to be suffering the most from the recent increase in payroll tax? Quite sad that so many are willing to be so uninformed.

Here in MI we will fondly look back a $3.79 a gallon of gas as our Republican Governor, Rick Synder has his way.
He is proposing a permanent $0.90 cent per gallon tax on gasoline to patch/improve our roads.

He has the support of MI's insurance industry, so it will probably be a reality soon.

Hey Momz.....will sign your Florida permanent Visa when you want to move South..!!

Last year it cost us over $1000.00 just to go to Bike Week and back.

Pappy, we will be in Deland on Saturday, March 9th. We are meeting another couple from Travares at the corner deli (used to be a bank).

It wouldn't take much to convince me to stay in central Florida.
Meet you here, perhaps?

Gas prices are definitely Obama's fault.  I've seen it during a White House tour.  It's a beige colored box sitting on one corner of his desk in the oval office.  It's got a dial and a knob.  The dial shows gas prices from 25 cents all the way up to $10.99 and 9/10.  Depending on how he is feeling that morning, Obama comes in and gives the knob a twist, left or right.  This sends a signal out to all the filling stations with the President's latest gas price, and of course, they all run out and adjust their signs accordingly.

He's also got a Starbucks box on his desk but he doesn't move this one very much as everyone seems to be OK with paying $4.50 for 16 ounces of coffee.

Ok, I'll state the obvious, Starbucks has no bearing on my life; however, the impact of fuel prices impact the cost of virtually everything...

my sarcasm detector is pegged into the red.

but the signs are there in actions and words.
1 having a dept of energy secretary that wants gas at $10 a gallon
2 shut down drilling in the gulf after deep water blew. only giving one permit out to say he's for drilling, shut it down in violation of a federal judges court order.
3 keystone pipeline?
4 devalueing or money to the point that people can't afford any road trip.

there's more,  I'll think of it eventually....

Well gas prices should be lower but why would the oil companies want to stop selling the oil found here in the US to us when they can sell it on the open market and export it for more money? :tickedoff: We have cut consumption its at the lowest level in years and prices go up, really I mean really? It is now Obamas fault big time, in fact we are exporting so much that the balance of trade is actually looking better. What bs.

15 Times Obama and Top Dems Blame Bush For Gas Prices

It is no more productive to blame Obama than it was to blame Bush. We have a central government that is totally out of touch with reality when it comes to the economic welfare of this country and all it's citizens. I have no idea how the average working stiff is going to be able to get the message across to our elected officials that we want a government that puts it citizens first. I am convinced that after the billion dollar plus election we just witnessed, money is all they are going to listen to. Only a meltdown of catastrophic proportions will even begin to turn the tide, and sadly that might not be enough to change our course.

Mate, who cares?  Blaming gas prices on the President has been standard political fare for decades.  But its not factual.  Gas prices are the result of the world market, refining capacity, demand, etc, none of which are in the control of the President.

I just understood from your original post that you really do think Obama is twisting the gas price knob.

That's a lot of money!  A dollar a gallon is a huge bump.  Here in New York, they added a NY Usage Fee to everyones car registration.  We register for two years so it's a bump of $35 a year.  For you guys, that would be covered in two tankfulls.

The reason gas prices are Obama's fault right now is because of his never ending handouts to the free loaders, borrowing and spending is so out of control he has the fed over printing money to keep the economy from totally failing.  This devalues the dollar and raises the price per barrel.  Plus he (obama) has stated he wants energy costs to skyrocket so why should he care about expensive gas, just throw some more ethanol in it so it produces less energy and we have to buy more so his tax revenue goes up and then he can continue borrowing and spending.

And of course he continues to undermine any chance of becoming energy independent so we have to continue to put up with begging our enemies to sell us oil.......but hey what else is new

But of course (silly me) its really not not his fault, Bush is still alive, so it must still be his fault.

energy independance is a great thing but not the way we are getting there, looks like another recession is heading our way. that is why usage has dropped so drastically. we had a negative quarter in the fourth last year, it's looking glum this quarter too. we may be producing but we can't afford to buy so who wins? and I'm confused I thought libs didn't like oil/coal/nukes/gas/ any thing considered dirty. :-X

obama has pretty much gutted the coal industry, which he said he was going to do. The increased production of crude in this country is certainly not because of him, the production is coming from private lands that he has no control over. His admin has been continually denying the renewal of licenses. Natural gas production could be our savior, but, he is fighting that. He is also fighting the new pipeline, I don't think he or other liberals realize how many millions of miles of pipelines there are in this country. Looking for alternative fuel sources is a good thing, but, its going to be another couple decades before that happens. We still need fossil fuel until then.

Yes Patrick, I agree 100%...these things are what I was referring to when I said Obama continues to stand in the way of America becoming energy independant.  Any increase in oil production (and I doubt the numbers in the Obama talking points) are in spite of Obama not because of him.
