When I was 8, my dad told me I could drive any car I could afford to buy.  

I think that was when I got a quarter a week for cleaning my room and helping mom.  Took me a year to save up for a used bow and arrow.

However, when still in diapers mom left me in a '48 Hudson idling at the curb, and I somehow managed to stand on the seat and pull it off the curb and idle down the street.  She sprinted after me but failed to arrive before I impacted a parked car and bounced off the wheel to the floor.  I was not left in the car alone after this.  (I have no recollection of this incident, but am assured it happened) (no child seats or belts in those days)
