Willow

It's been thirteen days since I last had the fat lady in the wind.  This morning I rolled down the window of the cage and held my face into the sub-freezing airflow.  It didn't help much.

I do realize that my addiction to this activity has negatively impacted my relationships, my finances, my usefulness to my employer and, at times, my own physical and mental well-being.  However, I am not motivated to seek the necessary steps to recover from this impulsive and sometimes illogical activity.

Over the past frozen days I have experienced difficulty sleeping, been generally irritable (there's some disagreement as to the connection to PMS), and have suffered physical, mental and emotional symptoms of withdrawal.  I have recently been aware of the possibility and reasonably feared the manifestation of stress related violence.

Pray for Spring.

I'm Willow and I'm a Valkaholic.

Hey Willow, I'm a Valkaholic too...is there a 12 step program available for us?

All though it may not seem like it you will survive the addiction. It could be worse for you. As an example I have for a grand total this year 35.6 miles......You know that ain't right..... With all I have going on in my life right now as much as I love to ride my Valkyrie it's not even in the top 10 list of things that are important.  >:(

Willow, a great BIG plus for you is you can and will ride, while a lot of us old guys will not. We rely on reports from the ones that do. And with pictures.   ;D

Mark, my heart goes out to you, man.  I know you have a lot to deal with in life right now.

I'm hoping and praying the time will come soon when you can enjoy some regular times in the wind so the world can be right again.  Meanwhile I'll keep your brain bucket well breezed for you.   :cooldude:

You're not a "Real Valkaholic" until you're to the point where you can't stop buying and riding the dam things, I'm contemplating another purchase. What's wrong with me?

If you are riding  and it is a must that you keep your eyes on the road, you are riding too fast.

That's priceless Chris. I got a ride in today myself, about 3 hours or so. Kind of cool for Central Florida. Bike Week coming up, hate that time around here. But, if any of you guys are heading down here, let us know!!
I still miss her.

Snowing here as we speak.  I certainly envy and live vicariously through all you Valkaholics that are able to feed the addiction on a daily basis during these months.  I have two bikes that scream at me every time I walk past the garage... :cooldude: ;D

Willow: I have felt your pain.  It was over 6 weeks, Dec/Jan, without Valk moving.  Hands were shaking, blurry vision, couldn't sleep.  We were having an unusal cold wet winter.  Most of the time its not more than a week without riding.   Since the middle of Jan, we have had a more normal winter.  I have rode over 1.5K miles.  Mostly around our Basin that I live in.  Mountians that are around us are too dangerous this time of year.  I even rode down into CA some 100 miles yesterday to have lunch.  It was great.  Shakes are gone, vision has clear up, and sleeping like a baby.

Just hang on for a bit longer.

Yes. However it will be at least mid May before I can do any real riding. Things have not improved after the last surgery on Dec.28Th. I have another surgery scheduled for tomorrow at 2:00 pm..... After all this I have opted for a medical implant that is a 100% guarantee...I hope. Fingers are crossed.

Mark sure hope things work out for you,I was just thinking about you and your grandson the other day and how much he injoyed playing with the fire at the fall ride and you comenting maybe he injoys it to much. Hope to share some wind with you this summer.

Pappy!

Well if it makes you feel any better you can live vicariously through me today. I went for a ride even though it was cold as Hell down here.
I never knew why I went for a ride....I just did. Ended up with about 130 miles and was bundled up with long undergatchies, lined jeans, insulated shirts and an insulated leather jacket and full helmet as well as glove liners and thick gloves. Cold for Florida!
Lets just say it was in your honor....that work?? Either that or I have to admit to the addiction. Using you sounds soooo much better!

Rams

I fully intended to ride to work today but, it seems like Mother Nature is plotting against me.  Cold rarely stops me from riding but, snow and ice does.  I was still tempted as I stepped on into the garage and opened the door.   I decided as I slid down the drive to my cage that riding probably was not in the cards today.  Had about a quarter inch of ice covered by a dusting of snow.  Didn't look to bad until ya stepped on it.  Woo Hoo, my trip into work was interesting to say the least.  ;)
