If it backfires once on ya, it is adjusting itself to the altitude.
My old Honda Gold-wing SE always did that going to Wyoming and then  coming back home.

Good Luck, and don't try keeping up with Brain till you get a good feel for that bike.

Nice bike Kit, CONGRATS. You might want to change the passenger seat though, I don't think Fudgie will be very comfortable on that one. :D

very nice bike I think it will fit her good and she will like it, good find - congrats.

Plus, with the saddlebag mounts you should be able to find a good deal on a set of leather or leather-like saddlebags that will look nice as well.  About the ONLY thing I dislike is the spoke rims prefer rims like our Valks but that is just my personal preference.

I doubt she will carry passengers so a backrest for passenger is really not needed unless Fudge wants to snuggle and HOLD ON TIGHT -  :2funny:

Congrats Kit!!
Awesome bike, sounds like a good deal too :cooldude:

Congrats on the new addition, looks great.

Keeping them spoke rims clean should keep her out of trouble...  :cooldude:

My thoughts exactly on spokes are harder to clean or keep clean and don't look as nice, but that is just personal opinion others love them though like my neighbor on his HD ultra classic having them and loves them.  I think it makes a bike look old school but some are into that.

Either way,  pretty darn clean and nice looking bike and if you got it at a good price, won't depreciate too much over the years maybe 1-1.5K tops which isn't much in case she decides to want to sell it later on.

fudgie

Thx guys she loves it.
I woke up from a nap this morning and she had her carharts on doing dishes. 25 deg out. 'What ya doing all dressed up.' 'Well I loaded the saddlebags up with my stuff and thought about going around the block.' We live in the country so a block is 4 miles. 'Becarefull since there is no insurance on it at this time.' 'Ok, I better wait.'  :'(

I went out and put a set of my valks old sheild pouches on it and the vista throttle lock. Dealer left the quick connect battery charger on it. Musta forgot so I may take it off as it has a blinking LED on it. Or may leave it on as a 'security system'.  ;D It actually came with some nice Bridgstone tires instead of Flops.  :cooldude:  Got it home yesterday and I said I'm doing something with the stock pipes. She couldnt hear me going past on the road.  :o Might drill out the rear baffles in the next few days. I asked on a shadow forum about it and got no answer yet. Having a hard time finding a 'resonable' backrest/ luggage rack. Also no took kit or owners manual. Going to hook up speakers and I have no clue about any of the wiring yet. Has a built in clock but I can only set it to military time. Cant fig out how to set it to 12 hr.
Anyone know if valk mirrors are a direct fit? I would think they would but not sure. Ugly round 'objects closer then they appear' mirrors are on it now.

my first new bike was a 2003 Honda Shadow ACE 750...bought it in Sept. of 2002.......it was chain drive and had a carb......I drilled the baffles out on the exhaust pipe to make it a little louder.....and I had to re-set the idle mixture......there was a "How-to" on the Shadow forum.....

I kept it for a couple of years until I bought the Valk in August of 2004.....It was a good starter bike for me, but felt like a mini bike after getting the Valk......a buddy of mine begged me to sell it to him......I only charged him the pay-off.......he ended up trading it for a new paint job on a house he was building at the time...... :(
