The Kentucky Memorial Weekend Ride....Motel Information

Just rolled in from doing the scouting ride in Kentucky for the Memorial Weekend ride. The motel information is below and this ride will be like the ride we had in Frankin,WV a couple years ago when we sold the entire motel out . We have a limited number of rooms blocked off and if you study long you will study wrong and miss out getting at ground zero.We did the scouting ride yesterday and had a great time and saw some beautiful roads and country. We had Valkyrie riders show-up from ( 5 ) states to join us on this scouting ride. When making reservations be sure to say you are with the VRCC Group to get a $12.00 discount.This is a very clean motel with a Race Track Market , a
Italian restaurant, a Mexican restaurant,and McDonald's all pretty much in the same parking lot Burgar King,Wendy's  and Appebee's all within easy walking distance.You will need a room for Friday May 24 and Saturday May 25 .

It is, what it is.  As I said, maybe next year, where ever it's held.  Had I known it was to be in KY this year earlier, I would be there.  Ride safe.

Edited:  When I first learned of this ride, I sent every person on the Kentucky Valkyrie Rider's List a link to the thread.  My hope was that some or all would attend.  I hope they do, we don't get together nearly as often as I would like to see.  I hope they all show up.

Are there more motels in the Corbin area and what route have you decided to ride on?  Inquireing minds want to know as I am planning to come. It is just a few hours from Pikeville to Corbin on US 80 and I75.

Judy said there's a Days Inn across the street. $60 per night & he don't speak-a-da-good-engla!
& a Best Western not too far but they want over $100 a night, it being a holiday weekend.

I tried to call the hotel but got no answer, I'm trying to find out if they are completely booked or just the rooms that were blocked off...there is a Days Inn right across the street, we figured any over flow could go there for the best rate...unfortunately we did not try to get a discount there, figuring we would wait to see if we booked the ground zero hotel, we didn't expect it to fill so fast...if I wanted to make this ride, I'd book a room there pronto to be sure...there is a Holiday Inn Express that shares the same parking lot with the ground zero hotel but they are 100 bucks a night from what I understand.....as soon as we get more information on rooms we'll let everyone know...
