one guy had 30 arrests!!  both are being held on $3 million each (they must be worth something then) but if you really think of it, they didn't intend to kill the guy, if you fire 10 shots at a person and only one hits your target, i'd call that an accident.......

Gangs are taking the place formerly held by family for a lot of young people today. This can only get worst. I hate to think what this world will be like in 20 years.

da prez

old2soon and da prez were raised in the Round Lake area. We moved there from Chicago in 1950. I can remember the issues when the first negro family moved in.
I moved to the outskirts when I got back from the Army. That store was a White Hen that I would stop at for coffee. The town has a strong hispanic population now.
About 15 years ago a gang banger tried to shoot me. Thats another story tho.
The cops cant keep up with the crime rate. I am glad my children are out of the area. We still have family there.

I've had the misfortune to get to know some 1% biker gang members (Warlocks) who really are no different than the gang-bangers mentioned above. One common thread they share seems to be the lack of a core family, specifically one with a strong father figure. Like Frizt said, they join these gangs for the love and acceptance they never got at home. With the victim mentality we have running rampant in our culture, gang activity will just get worse.  :-\

This has been the draw for gangs forever, not a recent phenom.

The parents SUCK, plain and simple.  Children having children.  Children without money having children.  And then those children are having children.  And one guy having 10 kids with 6 different women.  And women having 8 kids with 5 different men.  And the men either don't give a crap or are in jail.  You don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure this out......just watch daytime TV.

old2soon

I moved out of the area in 1978. My brother at one time lived in Round Lake Park Il. I spent a night in the Round Lake jail. At one time that whole area was white middle class working folks. All 4 of my children from my first marriage were born in Libertyville Il at Condell Memorial Hospital. So here it is 2013 and Chicago has indeed come to the suburbs.  :crazy2: :-\ When i grew up in that area in the 50s we settled with fist fights that usually ended up in a wrestling match that ended in a friendship. I saw myself headed in the wrong direction and joined the U S Navy in Feb 1964. These kids today have created their own war zone in their own neighberhood.  :'( How truly sad is that.  :-X RIDE SAFE.
Today is the tommorow you worried about yesterday. If at first you don't succeed screw it-save it for nite check.  1964  1968 U S Navy. Two cruises off Nam.

Garcia has 30 previous arrests as a juvenile and adult - including six convictions for domestic battery, LaRue said. Rebollar-Verara has eight previous arrests, including two weapons convictions, he said.

And that right there... THAT is the problem.

The penal system is WAY too soft and lets criminals out on the street.

Garcia can rot in Hell along with all the politicians that corrupted the system in this way.

I grew up just south of there in Wauconda, Ill. Glad I moved to Colorado 30 years ago.

The liberal-Dems (who won't even acknowledge the need  - let alone accept voter ID) will never agree, but.......at some point if you continue  your  (criminal) lifestyle, you forfeit the right to remain in an open free society.

A secure island, not as harsh as Devil's Island in French Guiana, should be your next LIFETIME STOP.

It's not unlike pest control........infected neighborhoods could resume a safe normal life.
