Got mine and they look nice in the package. Haven't torn down my bike yet for the annual "go over".
I plan to put in the new Progressive springs and polish the front wheel so thought I'd wait till all that's done before throwing the covers on.

the original kuryakyn part umber was #1295 but they are out of production now the listing was for a ebay auction of old stock there were 14 pair of them for $35.00 a pair they sold in one night

Not sure if there's much of a difference here, but they have some nice COBRA  covers available for $39 free shipping & there ribbed.

Is it fair to assume $38.99 is for a 'pair' to fit on each of the front brakes?  I don't see where its mentioned, and I don't like to take anything for granted where eBay's concerned.

yes the cobra ones they are 38 each and are flat they just stick on the flat front of the caliper the others actually cover around the edge a bit
