Where can you buy these short sissy bars (if you still can), and what are the actually called? ("short" sissy bar?)

I can't help about the shape I'm in
I can't sing, I ain't pretty and my legs are thin
But don't ask me what I think of you
I might not give the answer that you want me to

the one that barry at big bike parts makes is fairly plain for about 50 bucks but custom world the one I have makes one a bit nicer for about 70 bucks it comes with the mounting bolts http://www.westendmotorsports.com/custom-world-passenger-grab-rail-1500-valkyrie-9700-replaces-sissy-uses-mount-p-6761.html?gclid=CNvM64XxjbYCFVKf4AodtXMArg    someone else makes one with a led light built into it but its over a 100 bucks I think

I have heard it called a Solo Bar.

I have one... but REALLY like to look of the Valk with that whole mess removed.  If it's a long term change... I say take off the risers too.  If it's something you go back and forth between solo and double, taking the whole schmear off is a PITA.

In just MY view... having the upright supports for that solo bar gone is a big improvement.

Is that a stock seat you had the back rest installed in. I just bought a late model seat ( much more comfortable than the one that came on my 98). When my grandson is not with me I like to run sans the passenger seat and sissy bar. Totally badass look. But, my back rest attaches to the passenger seat. Love the look but I gots to have my back rest. Anyone know of any other back rest that attaches to the rider seat?    thanks, Larry

That is a stock seat... but I have since gone to a Russell Day Long.

The backrest mounts to the fender... and uses the two mounting bolts that the rear seat mounts to.  it has a sort of curvy riser that wraps around the back of the stock seat.  It works real good.
