Did'nt know Rico had sold it... I've saw this bike and trailer in person back when Charlie did all the paint and bling and it was one of the best back then. I'm thinkin' it took best of show at both Johnson City , Tennessee InZane's.

I've seen alot of people that thought they were cool , but then again Lord I've seen alot of fools.

That is one sweet bike and trailor,  If I had the funds it would be mine.

WOW, after looking the pics over carefully,  that is one nice bike and just the paint job detail makes it worth over 1 grand more easily.  Although functional since I love mine on my all black I/S,  the iron horse tank bib detracts/covers up the excellent paint job on the tank.

If you can get the bike and trailer for 9 grand, if lucky, it would be a very good deal.

Only problem I would have is I wouldn't be able to stop anywhere for the dozens of onlookers would be gawking at it and asking tons of questions.

Only thing I would like better is a dark maroon red color in that paint scheme over the pretty blue color that is also very nice.

I know the guy that bought it from Charlie's family ( Not the same guy who is selling it now ) and I also know alittle over a year or so ago he turned down $12,000.00 for the bike and trailer.

That's only about an hour away from me. If I were in the market for another interstate id go check it out.

Grumpy

Knew the original owner and painter, Charlie the Sculpture. I priced a similar paint job from him, for just the bike, $2800.  Great painter, just not some thing I could afford.

When in doubt, ride.

It's already at 11k with just under 8 days to go. It's a beautiful bike, no doubt! It will be interesting to see what the winning bid is.

About a year ago I had that bike bought for $10,750.00 with minutes to go on Ebay and Rico pulled it.  He did not have a reserve on it.  That's the last thing I have bid on on Ebay.  Smoking Joe and Valkhound knew about this.  You couldn't give me that bike now.

You got it wrong.  The auction was a NO RESERVE auction, then, at the last moment, the seller pulled the auction, not selling the bke, because the bid was not high enough.

I snipe, and have been sniped.  All part of the auction.

But, to have a NO RESERVE auction, then pull the item seconds before the sale because the price is not high enough, is just plain not ethical to me.

I agree with Bandit.  He got screwed, and the seller is not ethical.

Very impressive, I'll admit that.  Never thought I'd say this but, honestly it's got too much bling on it for me.  Too much of a show piece for my taste.  I'm not knocking it, just not something I'd go after.  I'd rather ride than polish.

I bid up to $12,000 but it's out of my price range. Sure is a nice bike.

Bandit and MP,
I see what you are talking about now, yes that would be sorta underhanded..if it has no reserve and the auction is within the last hour then ebay should not let you pull it...

Well, it is up to $12k and reserve is met.  Someone will get it.

IMO,  there comes a point in price and chrome that once it goes so high in price,  it becomes a show bike and not a goooo bike.   That one time you tip it or scratch the heck out of the chrome I would get more ticked off vs. say my I/S having tons of scratches on it but still looks somewhat decent once cleaned up and if I get 2-3 more scratches in it I don't get much upset over it since it is not a show bike anyways.

Fritz The Cat

Don't think I'd ride something like that. I'd park it in the living room as a show piece.

vanavyman

Sure sounds like seller is getting ready to do what he did last year to Bandit. He just added to listing that he reserves right to end auction early since it is for sale locally. Makes me wonder.

I see that too.  At the moment, I think the seller is dishonest.  Maybe not, but does not look ethical to me.  If that was the case, why didn't he state that up front?

Charlie used to ride the heck out of that bike. When you have his painting skills you don't sweat it too much.

If I was in the market for one I would be thinking about it seriously. The trailer alone is worth $2k without the paint job. I saw this bike at Inzane in Johnson City  a few years ago, and I would price a duplicate paint job like that as being in the $3-5K range. Anyone on here that has seen that bike in person will agree the bike is well worth the money.  with all this said...if the seller pulls the bike again like he did before with bandit, I wouldn't buy it from the S.O.B. for any amount!

MP

Up to $13,500.  Hard to think he would pull it at that price.

I'm the one that is the high bidder on the bike and trailer.  Paying a little more money than I wanted too, but I do like the bike.  Wife is not too happy about the price but she will like it the bike.  I'm hoping to pick it up this weekend.  I haven't seen all the receipts yet but the ownership is a little different than I thought.  Looks like the current owner bought it after it came off ebay last year for $14,000.  Looks like I will be putting my Black and Tan Interstate up for sale.

Last time I saw that bike ( InZane / Johnson City , Tennessee ) in person it was beautiful and did'nt have a mark on it . Charlie seemed to love that machine and you could tell with the attention to detail.... Hope it still looks like it did back then  :cooldude:
