Greetings folks,

I just bought a 2000 Valk with the cobra 6 into 6 exhaust and was wondering if anyone knows of an aftermarket sheild/cover for the area where your boots rub the pipes leaving those ugly stains on the pipes?  the is my second Valk. I owned a "98 for about 4 years with stock exhaust and I didn't really have trouble with staining the pipes. I bought this bike and It was rather dirty and the pipes have a lot of boot stains on both sides. So I'll be cleaning the bike thoroughly and removing the pipe stains but I'm hoping there's some covers available.

thanks for any assistance in advance !

Rocky,

Pappy!

Well, first off let me welcome you to the madness! Addiction....whatever!
Pics of your ride will be the next request of course.
I do not know of any covers that are made for the pipes you have.

I have a brand new set that came with my pipes that I never installed. But im working on the road for another month and will not see home before then.

Cobra did make covers, long since discontinued.  IF you find a set today, better have plenty of $$$$$!

I think Rick {Flask} has a set. You may be able to get a hold of him over on the Florida board.
And like MP said, be prepared to part with some Benjis!  :o :o

I think the set that cobra made fit up front where the pipes meet the heads.  At least the set i have do, it covers where the pipes turn colors.    If they made a set for behind the pegs I have never seen them.

Rivco made the set that covered the Cobra header pipes that I bought. They attach by spring connectors. I've never seen any done up by Cobra.

Seems like JP Cycles once had some sort of a universal heat shield that may work near the boot area.

he is not talking about the covers on the front headers, hes talking about the heat shields that come with a brand new set of pipes that go by the foot pegs where the back of your boots hit the pipes,

Thanks for all the replies!  As the purchase and title transfer took up all my extra spending cash ( The state of Michigan "needed" my 6% sales tax) so I will either have to wait a bit to find and buy a set or I will fab up a set for the bike. I can fab em up for free :) As far as a pic goes....it still needs to be cleaned up and polished and here in Michigan it's a tad bit cold out to be washing a bike  haha.

summer will be here before we know it though and I'm personally thrilled to have another fat lady parked in my garage!

Rock,

If you can fab a Rivco replacement at a reasonable cost, you'll likely find a number of new best friends. Myself included.

Unfortunately I'll be making them at work and they frown on me turning a profit from company materials...imagine that  haha
