new to us recipe, it's good but we gotta tweak it.

this time;
2 tablespoons dijon mustard
1 tablespoon dark brown sugar
1 tablespoon bourban (we got Jim beam)
1 clove garlic minced
pepper/garlic powder to taste.

our recipe
3 T dijon mustard
1 T dark brown sugar
2 T bourban
pepper/garlic powder.

make it a paste brush it on/ spoon it on. cook on medium heat about 20 mins for 1 1/2" thick chops.

you can save half to glaze after it's cooked.

Tom, if it hadn't been for the nasty storm that came through Orlando this afternoon I could have made it in time for dinner. Maybe next time.  ;)

I have a really dumb question!!!!!  When people cook why do they put booze in the food when they are cooking?  Like beer batter onions rings, JimBeam, JackDaniels and so on. I am not being a wise ass, I don't understand it.

it adds alot of flavor, try making italian meatballs without red wine then make more with red wine. you'll taste the difference.

the alcohol cooks out, you get no buzz from cooking liqour :cooldude:

Understand I am not trying to be a butt head. I am really trying to understand the reasoning behind it. I don't eat meat and I don't drink. I use to and decided to quit beating the crap out of my liver, so I stopped. I watch cooking shows all the time looking for some good recipes and noticed that they often use liquors or wines in cooking.  I understand the alcohol gets cooked out of the food but the booze flavor is there. It seems like it is prelude to alcoholism or causing one to have cravings for booze.   I am trying to understand why I drank.  Don't like the taste of it. Thanks for your input.

My son can't do dairy.....
He told me that one time a new girlfriend came to his house, kicked off her shoes... he looked down and saw she had NO TOES....  He told her to get her stuff and leave...

that's why I don't eat green bell peppers. I did vegan for about a year but I came back....

Some folks say red meat is bad for ya...... but they are WRONG!!!!!!
