You can take your pretentious fake Italian vineyard and stick it where the sun doesn't shine.

Friend and I rode up to Montaluce on our motorcycles at 1.35pm today Sunday April 7th.
http://www.montaluce.com/

The 2 young guys running the valet parking pointed at a clearly marked disabled parking spot for us to put our bikes. They bikes aren't noisy and oil dripping and we aren't noisy and leather clad.

There are about a dozen cars in the parking lot. Not a busy lunch hour.

Walked in to be asked if we had a reservation.

Nope.

"Oh dear we've just been flooded today". We are told.

Really we think standing looking at empty tables opposite the wine bar and the 1/3 full restaurant.

"Would you like to wait by the bar whilst I speak with the manager"?

We wait by the bar only to be told there would be at least a 30 minute wait.

Idiots. If you don't want a certain type of business put a sign up and DON'T LIE.

Will never go back. Sometimes we drive cars and LOOK NORMAL.

In a past life I rode bicycles all over town. Commuted to work for 25 years. Some friends went to Napa to tour the vineyards. When they arrived at them, they were pointed to the cheap wines with comments like "all you bikers buy are cheap wines".

..

Just got an email from a riding buddy who said ha arrived there in a pick up and was given the heave ho.

Hope the place burns down one night.

Been turned out at a motel a long time ago.  I thought this was a thing of the past.

Been turned out at a motel a long time ago.  I thought this was a thing of the past.

Same thing happened to me and the wife on a freezing cold night on Big Bear Mountain/Lake in CA (late '80s).  Rode in, they looked out the window, and turned the vacancy sign in the window to no vacancy, and turned the outside lights off.  Didn't even bother knocking.  It was a noisy Hog, though I knew to be very easy on the throttle/noise level.

Life is to short to care what others think of you.  _iss on them, I'd tell them to F off and _crew themselves right in front of what is left of the crowd!

Wouldn't be the first time and certainly won't be the last.

Not to change subject, but sort of reminds me of what just happened a little over 3 hours ago:  My 14 year old daughter's 'sort of' boyfriend came up to  our house and wanted his sweatshirt with his name on back and his long shorts back that my daughter sometimes wears and although I must have had selected hearing since VERY LUCKY FOR HIM I did not hear this but he told her to go back to wearing her own SKANKY CLOTHES.  That 15 year old better not be showing up around here anytime soon for he will get an ass whoopin' don't care if he is under 18 or not.  He better straighten up VERY SOON or he will be gettin' an ass chewin' as well from me big time.   And so let the fun begin with just new teenage daughters.  She can do a lot better than him anyways.  Also found out from the wife since the daughter doesn't talk to me about things like this, but the 15 year old has recently been saying other mean things to her and it WILL Stop NOW!  I just talked to her and told her to forget him and move on since he's not worth her time.  I can't handle DRAMA since I'm not that emotional, but am sure this is just the start of it all.  Let the gray hairs, which I already have several,  grow out of control!  :tickedoff:

I would have grabbed the little jerk by the scruff of his neck and launched him out the front door if he spoke to my daughter like that.

Here's how the conversation went with my daughter's boyfriend... "Son, do you carry a gun?" No sir I don't, "Well, keep in mind that I do"

Britman...you kept your cool with those morons better than I ever would have been able.

Back in October, trying to get home from Rio after learning that my mom had suddenly died, my company got me off the boat post haste and to the airport. Well, I was exhausted after having made a 300+ mile round trip offshore, then hurried thru traffic to the airport. I checked the seating chart on my laptop and there were 14....count them....14 seats left in "Business Elite" (Delta's name for first class on these flights). Since the fare class purchased by the company wasn't eligible for their complimentary upgrade, I decided that I would use some of my miles to upgrade to that "Business Elite" cabin.

I went to the customer service counter and asked the lady if I could upgrade using 25K of my miles. "Sorry sir, your fare class does not allow for an upgrade." I tried to explain to her that I wasn't asking for the complimentary bump into that cabin but was willing to spend my miles for it. "Again, sir, you cannot upgrade with your fare class." So I told her that I was just trying to get home because of a death in the family and there were 14 seats vacant in that cabin, how much skin off her nose would it be to simply push a few buttons and upgrade me? The seats were never going to be used anyhow.

Same response, same dumb look.

Well, I was tired and did not feel like creating a scene (which my wife will tell you I have done more times than she cares to remember). I turned to walk away with this comment..... "Well F*** you very much."

It was as if the color just drained out of her face and she was left speechless. And one of the first things I did after arriving home was to fire off a letter to the president of the company.

Sorry Brit...did not want to hijack the thread....it's hard for me to tolerate, without comment, the kind of jerks and a**holes you and your partner experienced. And apparently it is not unique to you. There are several reviews on Yelp.com that refer to a very similar experience to yours at that eatery.

I too am quick to flare at idiots and injustice. I learnt many years ago to simply walk away and to make sure that others then knew of what happened.

Its so fun when the opposite happenes.

I used to skydive as a job in the military.  Not just a paratrooper, I was a free fall instructor for a couple years.  So I had to fly often to where we were doing training or classes.

I would always hand carry my rig because I couldnt fathome thinking about the baggage handlers torturing it, and it fit nicely under any airline seat.

Well one day (in the old days) while checking in at the front desk another passenger asked me what that strange looking backpack was so I told them it was a parachute.

WELL! not only did the passenger get ruffled "what do you need that for" the girl checking me in took the passengers side and started to give me a hard time.  I got it calmed down but then I messed up.  When she asked me isle or window, I said tongue in cheek... "anything near an exit"  OK, now she must have called the gate people; they were ready for me when I got there.

This little skinny weaselly guy with a nasal voice tries to explain the DB Cooper incident and therefore I cannot take my parachute on the plane.

Well, I knew it was totally allowed so I asked him to show me where it was restricted IN WRITING  He couldnt so he actually called the captain.  Then he looks at me like youre fixin to get yours now!

When the captain showed up, the weasel started in like a mother hen....."this guy wants to bring a PARACHUTE on the plane......I told him bla bla bla"

The captain looks at me and says "military?" "yes Sir"  "where you stationed" "Woodbridge England"  He proceeds to tell me about his years at Bentwaters England (just across the street) and how he liked it there.  then told the weasel that the planes all have interlock switches after the DB Cooper thing and even the pilot cannot open a door in flight.  The captain said last "If you have any problem finding a space for that rig tell them to get me, I have a big enough closet up front."

The weasel turned green and went away

PRICELESS

Britman sorry you were snubbed, but if they thought they were an Italian Restaurant, they were not acting Italian at all.  You were blessed by not having to stay one more minute in that wretched place.

He's lucky I didn't hear it but I guess he said it since neither my wife nor my daughter came back out after I talked to him a few minutes more.  All in all it will be a good thing since I'm pretty sure he is 'NOT' the one for her and being only 14 is way to young anyways in my opinion to be going out with the opposite sex.   The kid came from a very, very hard life no Dad and Mom is in jail and been thru 4-5 foster homes as well but I gave him the benefit of the doubt since he seemed nice overall, just a little rough around the edges.  If he keeps it up, he will be in a world of hurt though literally.  I don't think the gun scare works on most kids nowadays, but a good _ss whoppin will.

I must admit that my wife has had a lot to do with me "mellowing" a little. Still, sometimes the idiocy is so profound that I can't restrain myself.
