I,m curious has anybody done this,I just figured when the weather gets up in the ninety's the wrap around the headers would lighten the heat coming  off the beast!    So any input would be appreiciated!        Thanks!  BouleValk...

Depending on the wrap material you may hurt yourself getting to all the header bolts unless you leave that area unwrapped. I have never seen a valk with the headers wrapped. I wouldn't do it unless I were hiding a real bad spot on the pipes from an accident or something.

I think most of the engine heat we feel while riding on a hot day comes from the radiator.  I see no reason why wrapping the pipes would hurt anything, though, other than chrome looks much better.

Heat wrap on exhaust pipes will exacerbate rusting exponentially.

If you wrap the headers where is that heat going to go?  The mufflers are pretty hot already so I wonder how much hotter they would get.
It might not matter at all but just a thought.

Ricky-D,

I love your posts, you've taught me alot, thank you.

But I gotta ask, do you talk like this?

QuoteHeat wrap on exhaust pipes will exacerbate rusting exponentially.

Nah...if he were talking he would have said "ferric oxidation" instead of "rusting."

It's actually all buzz related.
More buzz = greater verbosity
Less buzz = more succinctness

I forget the exact formula lol
