If ya find one let me know.

They are selling some models right now that have a FREE lifetime update.....

Might just have to look into that...

My son bought a TomTom  last week, don't know if it is one of those models or not......

There are certain models of Garmin's GPS that you pay a 1 time fee and Garmin  provides updates free of charge as long as you own the unit......

That would be the maps and the software.

Seems like it was the Zumo models....

Figure someone else saw this and can provide a link.  It didn't cover my unit, so I never kept the link.

The 330 Garmin I use, they want 99 dollars to update.  It is so old its not worth the update.  If there is a free site please tell.

I finally found the site....

It has a one time charge and then free updates for the listed units in their ad.

I have a Garmin Zumo 550 and from time to time I check the web site and I update for free. Now far as the maps yes I had to pay for the upgrade, I upgraded to 2008 and they gave me 2009 map.  If you go to Garmin site and download the WebUpdater the program updates the GPS , the program does the work. Far as the maps, to my knowledge everybody pays.  Keep in mind the marketers try to keep the cash flowing, you have to check what the changes are and ask yourself if you need it.  You never now they may change a comma or a period or add a street in BF Noland and call it an upgrade and tell you that you really need it.  So watch some of these sites, they all want to be your buddy and help you, but they just want to get close to your wallet. So ask yourself do you need it.

:cooldude: :cooldude: I just "upgraded" my cars nav that was from 2001. My house wasn't on the original map and it's still not on the most current 2008 version either. Considering that they want ~$300 for a DVD and $75 labor to put it in the player (sheesh!) you would certainly thing they'd have included my house that was built in 2001 by now!  I was told that all "I" have to do is to go to "their" web site and put in a request to include my address in their map. What do they do to earn their money anyway? Just wait for their customers to do it for them? Ugh! . . . and no, I didn't pay retail and no, I didn't pay them to put the DVD in. I wish I could earn $75 for two screws! But wait, they would have to remove the darn shrink wrap from that DVD box!   :tickedoff: :uglystupid2: :tickedoff:

You can't be talking about Garmin. I bought my 2009 DVD from Garmin for $65, And I loaded it myself, it took about an hour but the disc. did all the work.
