Spring has sprung in South Carolina, we've had plenty of rain, the lakes are
near full and stuff is turning green  :cooldude: ... My buddy Henry has a "new"
Valkyrie, and I headed out to meet him and Hong for breakfast at Grits
and Groceries. On the way, I followed Andy and Barney down hiway 24 into
Townville where the tractor festival was going on...

Townville's a nice old one-road town, this is the heart of town on a nice spring morning...

After breakfast we headed down some of the same roads Stanley Steamer and I
went down about three weeks ago... Here's Hong and Henry at the old Church
at the Cedar Springs Historic District...

We stopped at a couple of remote old bridges over deep gorges, Stanley and
I had stopped at this one...

I had never been to this bridge before until yesterday... notice the two vine covered
uprights to the left of the bridge...

I guess the uprights held up an older bridge, the uprights for the other side have
fallen into the creek... this picture helps you to perceive the depth of the gorge...

We passed lots of old structures... tough old rural buildings are often
built on brick pier foundations with no underpinning, keeps the wood
away from the termites...

Here's some more spring time motorcycle ride pictures...

We traveled further south than Stanley and I did a few weeks ago, but there's
not much further you can go before the remote ruralness ends and the crowded
Aiken/Augusta area begins... I guess Augusta would be really crowded about now...
It is horse country down there...
