Getting terrible fuel mileage lately...

Made a run down to San Antonio to visit my wife while she's there for work, and I got TERRIBLY bad gas mileage. I just can't figure out what the problem was, I was only doing 15 to 20 over the speed limit, just like I usually do, but I hit reserve at only 70 miles!

Luckily I had my GPS, even though there was nothing visible from the road, my GPS was able to find me a gas station just 2 miles off the road so I was able to keep going...

Before I put the IS tank on my 97, I hit reserve at 74 miles a number of times!

Check your petcock diaphragm.

The smallest of tears will result in terrible m.p.g.

Pssst, sorry, I shoulda said this was a tongue in cheek post... When I drop down to more normal speeds my mileage goes back to normal. Was just having fun on the new road in Texas with the highest speed limit in the nation.

Oooooooooooooooooooh.

I used to carry an extra half gallon for such impetuous moments. Of which there were quite a few.

On the ST I have 7.2 gallons. At about 42 mpg my butt wears out before the gas in the tank
